View Full Version : turtles christmas
How come they never had turtles christmas special. If they had it, it would make more sense to have it in December 1989 because this was when the series was at its peak. They would have shredder and krang have some scheme of somehow ruining christmas. A mention in the weather would be mentioned because it is hot where the technodrome is because it is near lava while it is colder up in the surface.
Pizza would probably be in the 12 days of christmas true love gave to me.
The would probably have bebop and rocksteady wait for "Sainty claus", I said Sainty because that is how they would say it, and want presents, and try to give each other presents and shredder would probably have one of them disguise themselves as an elf and santa in part of the plan he has. The plan he would have to ruin christmas would be interesting, but I am trying to think of what he would do. In the end they would probably have the turtles and splinter and april celebrate christmas. The channel 6 newsroom would be dressed in christmas decorations. They would probably have vernon on tv saying this is your friendly newscaster reporting to wish you a merry christmas. IRma would wonder if santa would bring her a man.
I wonder if they will have a christmas special for the new series. They out to.

Not a cartoon, but it still counts.

If they do have a Christmas special in the new show, it'll probably be based on Michelangelo #1.

Your ideas sound like they would have fit if such an episode existed. I personally would have wanted to see a TMNT Christmas episode, but then, the same old plot of 'saving Christmas from getting ruined' would be soooo typical! Uggh, why does almost every Christmas show have to be like that? It's so old now, like a song that gets tiresome every time you hear it. And there's really no getting around that plot when there's good and evil involved. I think I'd be impressed if it was a Christmas episode but some other disaster was going on. Like Christmas was happening on the side and they did their usual battle with Shredder and his goons. I'd be thinking, "Wow! They didn't have to worry about saving Christmas this time! Finally!"
Maybe the new cartoon show will do the Michaelangelo micro book in December. I'd like to see that brought to life even though it was a slight 'saving Christmas' story. But, it was a cute one. For those who haven't read it, I'm not saying anything! :P

Too bad that issue was terrible. It had an awesome cover, though.

It was just so sappy and sweet it made my teeth rot.
Still, the issue is worth owning simply because it has one of McFarlane's best covers (most of the Spawn covers tend to look alike).

I think it would've been funnier to see them do an episode that took place at Christman time, but the specific adventure they were to go on would only have something remotely related with Christmas like mutated pine trees or reindeer.
They did an episode like that once with Halloween where Irma was in a super hero costume and a strange ray beam caused her to gain temporary super powers.
There was also that Easter themed episode with Krang making everyone on Earth become as timid as rabbits

Don Ivey mentioned to me how, for the new show, they've done the other micro books for each turtle except for the Christmas special. As everyone knows, we've seen "Meet Casey Jones," "The King" and "The Shredder Strikes Back" part two. Wayne Grayson even said that the Michaelangelo comic is what made him a fan of the character from the start. He enjoyed the issue immensely and has heard talk of them putting the book into an episode of season 3. :)

It would have been fun to see the four seasons of the year (summer, autumn, winter and spring) shift in the 1987 TMNT cartoon. But all stories took place in the summer, the only time snow was seen was in Austria, and when Krang used some device to change the climate.
And a Christmas show in the 1987 TMNT cartoon whould have been fun. With Splinter dressed as Santa Claus for the TMNT giving them pizzas. (In Sweden in 1991, there was a TMNT Advent calendar with Splinter dressed as Santa Claus).
Some years ago, I rode a TMNT fanfic about Christmas. It was on the Internet, and it was called "Duck and Cover", and was with "Ace Duck".
There could also have been other plots, like use something from "The Christmas Aliens" but also make a new story:
"The theory that the Star of Bethlehem was a supernova (without mention about religion), and the story taking place during season 4. When the light hit Dimension X 1990 years later, Krang tries to use the energy to re-power the Technodrome." To distract the turtles, Bebop and Rocksteady could have tried to steal toys supposed to go to an orphanage.

Pssst... Johan... replying to threads older than 2-3 months is considered to be not very elegant on this board - and is called "necroposting". Try to avoid this.

A really good Christmas special would have been an episode where the TMNT were trying to stop Krang and Shredder's latest plan of stealing Christmas presents, decorations, etc., and along the way they realize that the Gruesome Twosome is trying to ( "literally") steal Christmas. In the last three minutes or so they infilitrate the 'dome and realize that Krang and Shredder are merely celebrating the holiday with each other and stole the decorations for that reason. It ends with them exchanging gifts and saying things like, "What, you couldn't have stolen something better?" and the turtles leave them to their inevitable holiday fighting.

uhhh... that Rhino was Genoske-san from Usagi Yojimbo. Other than the fact he dressed up like Rocksteady in an episode, there is no connection to the characters whatsoever. Hope this clears things up.
Yes, it was a Christmas special based on the comic story of Michelangelo's Christmas Rescue, and during the main storyline, the sub-plot was a celibration of the Turtles and their friends.
WIth that said, the previous idea is an intereresting take on the old "saving Christmas" super hero cartoon plot. A great twist as they use the stuff to celebrate Christmas, not ruin it.
