Since I don't have time to type it out, this is copied word for word from one of GWtrunks posts. It is the entire post, so bear with me.

Hobbytown USA had one box of starter decks. black boxes... pretty 'bleh' looking really, compared to the yellow and orange of the toy line.

Okay! I got the game, and I've learned to play it. The rule book, as I suspected, is mostly useless. They say a whole lot with out saying anything at all in it.

The cards ARE the 'mini' sized ones.

The game's pretty... eh. It's not good, but it's nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. The art work is REALLY good, although I for future expansions I hope they use some Mirage artwork.

On to the actual game: You have 4 diffrent kinds of cards: Character, Item, Event, and Attack cards. Some attack cards double as defense cards, or 'uber' attack cards (a blue ninja star on the top is for devense cards, a red is for the 'uber' attack). Each players uses a 40 card deck (no more, no less), with up to 3 copies of each card. As is usual with Upperdeck games there's bound to be a banned/restircted list (My bet is Casey Jones is the first on there... he's WAY too powerful).

You start by each drawing a hand of 5 cards, then setting 4 cards out to be your 'Block' cards. Block cards stop damage from an opponent durring an attack. The next thing is to play Event cards. Flip cards can ONLY be used if they're one of your Block cards, Flip & Play can be either fipped or played, and Play are used and sent to the discard (or 'Trash' in this game).

After Event cards you play Item cards. To play an Item card you have to discard one card of the same type as the Item you're playing. Example: I'm playing a Kickboard, a blue card. I have to discard another blue card in order to play it.

Now comes the attack step. You flip over your Block 1 card (the left most Block card). If it's a Character or an Attack card, you keep going with the attack, other wise your turn's over (more on ending your turn later). If you have a Character card, you can choose to play Attack cards from your hand. If you do, you add up the Power of all your face up cards and that's how much you attack for. Your opponent can play a Defense card now, but ONLY if you play an attack card (as far as I know anyway). If they play a Defense card you take it's power away from your attack.

For each attack point you do your opponent flips over one of their Block cards. After they're all flipped, they discard one card from their deck for each damage point. (Lets say I have an attack of 8. you block 2, leaving me with a 6 attack. you have 4 face down Block cards that get flipped, so you'd discard 2 cards from your deck).

After the discarding/flipping's done your turn's over. Each player discards all face up cards on the table except their items and 1 Character card.

Then on your opponents turn, they fill their hand up to 5, draw a card for each empty Block slot they have, and then they refill their 4 Block slots.

The game keeps going untill someone runs out of a deck. That person looses .

Like I said, ignore the rule book. It took me and my group of gamers the better part of 3 hours to decode Upperdecks new book from hell. I'm 98% sure we're playing it correctly, so if you have anything to add/change please do!

All in all a decent game. Nothing groundbreaking, 'cause it just combines a few games (DBZ, Yugioh, and even a little Magic: the Gathering). It's worth a try at least . And the cards do look really good, so the collectors here should be happy.

And by the way, the boosters arn't out yet, sadly. each starter set has the same decks, but they both have all 4 turtles and one has splinter and the other has casey. My set was 10.99.
