Now to me thats freaking amazingly great news and should be brought out everyone should write to Mirage and tell them to pleaee bring it out.
I know I'm going to I've wanted to read this story for so damn long....and to me the archie series is incomplete without this storyline being printed!
so please everyone go pester the mirage guys to bring this out!
^_^
thanks for your time
-Vaughn Michael

[mod edit by Machi: I thought since this is such a big event, we needed to officialize this thread for discussion. Please try to keep it in This thread and not sprawl all over the forum. It'll keep things in order and junk... :D Talk away!]

cool it's good to see other people interested in it ...it seemed really dark the way archie was going when it got the can makes wonder if thats why it got it....
not sure if thats you gives the name CMonkey99? that you?
if so cool if not even cooler cause this story line needs to get out so we can all have it to enjoy and read and have the series finally end after all these years.

If they were to do this, I wonder if it would be possible for them to do it in full color. I would want to see it that way since it would of coarse incorporate the TMNT with their multi-colored bandanas.

I sure hope it would be in full color I don't really see what the point would be to release a full color story as black and white that just seems so wrong to me....god now you have me worried I sure as hell hope they do if they ever release it.
Peter will forever be my god if he brings this out lol

OMG I WANT TO READ THAT! The last issue of the Archie turtles sucked. I figure that if it was Archie then it will be full color.
As said on the official site
Thus ends the regular monthly continuity of "TMNT Adventures". The following two issues deal with the adolescent TMNT. The series was suddenly canceled by Archie before the next story arc, "The Forever War", would see print. Archie was unhappy with the direction the series had been taking and sales were dropping, so they decided it was time for a change. Having written all of these synopses, I must say that this series was truly great, and it's sorely missed.
This means they might have had it already done and they just never did. I hope they do release it because it looks so bad ass I LOVE FUTURE TURTLES!

*raises glass* This one's to you, Mr. Laird.

Wow, this is amazing news. The Archie TMNT are by far my favorite incarnation of the characters, next to Eastman and/or Laird-written Mirage stories. This has really got me excited.

Since we're talking about resurrecting old never-happen's, I wonder if there's any chance that Pete might consider resurrecting that "Next Mutation" story arch Mirage advertized several years back?? It looked pretty interesting.

Who knows?? Laterz.

Perhaps, but in the "Next Mutation" story-arch, all the TMNT were supposed to continue mutating. I also doubt it would have been due to a "vampire attack", too.

Still, we'll see. ;)

i tihnk that (the further mutation) was mentioned in #16's letters column.

Also, in terms of the Forever War, stay tuned, but don't take it super seriously yet. You know too many factors would have to be put into place, and something like this could be over a year off! But, it is something to hope for.

Yes indeed I want to read it.

Mirage had better publish the damn thing.

I want to see the turtles fight the good fight for their friends the Mutanimals. Remember them? How DARE they kill off the Mutanimals! I was only a kid back then and I had to see Leatherhead die! Oh, Leatherhead! Here's a good ol' "UT!" for you, man!

Whitewolf89

I don't really care HOW many parts it has! I just want to see it really happen! I got soooooo mad at Archie for dropping the series before they came out with "Future War" that I fumed about it for weeks afterwards! :tgrumble: Kinda reminded me of the way Marvel Comics dropped the "Biker Mice From Mars" comic book series after only THREE issues, when there were initially supposed to be SIX issues (I guess it was supposed to be a mini-series, or something). Which is the MAIN reason that I don't waste money on anything that Marvel has come out with since 1993.

KROW
06-27-2004, 11:59 AM
I loved the Archie series, too. I know what you mean. I have alot of the issues but not all of them. I intend to get them from the official site in the future.

I also agree when you say you don't care how many parts it's in. Neither do I.

(I didn't want Jephael to think that I was taking credit for something he did that's why I posted a link to the topic instead of just the image.)

Don't worry, dude. I originally got it from someone else's site only a year or so before I got a copy of #70 which had the preview in it.

Nice! :D

Funny that just last night I had a dream that I was in this store that had the Archies there. I was trying to figure out which issues to buy, when I saw this big (and unfortunately more expensive) book of a collection of the Archies. In the dream, I was trying to decide whether to buy the cheaper comics, or the book, as I figured I'd never find it anywhere else again. I woke up before I decided. Mayhaps I'll have to try having gin and tonics before bed more often, lol.

After many years and about $40 worth of Furrlough backissues, I finaly have the 3 parts of the Ninjara story line in my possession. If anyone is interested in seeing where Ninjara's life took her after she left the guys, lemme know and I'll see what I can do about scanning the pages. ..

Seriously though, I stopped reading the Archie series about midway through. I've looked back at some of the covers and descriptions at www.ninjaturtles.com and I must say that it looks like I stopped at just the wrong time. Much of the rest of the series looks very interesting. The covers I've seen for "The Forever War" look fantastic and intriguing as well. I'm definetely going to pick it up. It should be a good read.

rat king, you definitely stopped at the wrong time. GO BUY BACK ISSUES! :D

My beef with the Archie series has always been that it wasn't the TMNT. It was like they just took Leo, Raph, Don, Mikey, Splinter, and Shredder and threw them into a completely random comic. There was just no elements of what I would consider TMNT in the stories.

But without worrying about that and just accepting them as belonging to their own universe it looks like it got very interesting towards the end of its run.

Darlin', I hate to be the one to tell you this, but in the Future Turtles' time (100 years ahead of ours, where/when this will be based, I'm thinking), Master Splinter has ALREADY passed away due to old age. They said that in Part 1 of the "Future Shark Trilogy" (Issue 42).

But you may be right about Ol' Tin-Skin "Biting the Big One", as they say. We'll just have to wait and see.

thanx man, i remember reading that interview with CHris Allen before where he talks about the Future war storyline where DOn is killed, it was here Apparently, Chris mixed Steve and Dean up last time. They are not the same person after all.
I'm as confused as the rest of you. Here's a part of an actual email I got from Chris that
explains what happened.

I've now fixed references to Steve/Dean (at least most of them). Updated version of the old
answers plus the new ones on the Forever War are now online. Just click the link on my sig.
Once again I sent him a bulk of questions at once which explains the "double" answers.
but there is no link there... its killing me not to know the story and i really wanna get the book and come in with more info so if ne one could help thanx!

Chris has said that sometimes covers were drawn first, like in this case, and then a story would be written and drawn to go along with it. There really is no way to know what the storyline would have been. And yes, this project will take time - two independent folks, an artist and a writer, one who lives in PA and one who lives in Alaska without email contact, working on a project solely to please long time fans....yes, we must be patient :D
