Wow, the vehicles really are great!
And Splinter also looks far better when he's fully dressed
Can't wait till the new toys are sold! :thyper:

I really, REALLY hope that they wouldnt put those in the new series. That is the problem with cartoons when toy companies are funding the show. Because of playmates there was so many vehicles in the old cartoon, but that wont work it the show is going to be mirage based.
Your so right Karpo, if they're gonna use those vehicles in the cartoon series, along with that Turtlebike (has yet to come out), then it wouldn't be as Mirage looking as they said it would

And Splinter also looks far better when he's fully dressed :wink:I wouldn't be surprised if some people here didn't agree... ;) :D
Anyway, his clothes look awesome!
The only (small) thing I don't is how he doesn't look like the small, dark Mirage rat, but some things has to be changed in the toon, I guess...

For the vehicles... Well, they could've been worse! :)

whaaaaaa Splinter's wearing burlap! :o
It is just my eyes, or does it look like his walking stick splits apart like the origional Playmate one did (where it would turn into a pokey sword).

Splinter looks ok with his clothes on too. But the vehicles... They said it would be "Pake torn out of a mirage comic" so i guess they wont use them.

Oh Yeah! I'm really going to like this new line of toys.
The armored car looks like it is a good replacement for the Turtle Van. I will most certainly have to get one.
I, for one, don't care if they stick strictly to the comics or throw in a few elements from the old series. I absolutely enjoyed the original series and can still enjoy it to this day, so if they can throw in a few comedic elements here and there I will be happy.

But they said it would be like mirage. Those vehicles would totally ruin that.

He's a blue rat! Don't worry Machias, once they're out I can fix you up with a Splinter that's any color you like! :D He does definitely need a pink tail!

10-11-2002, 11:17 AM
Blue!? Hey, its Azure's Spinter! :D  I'm planning on getting some figures for myself, so i'll paint him to his proper color...maybe a better outfit too...
tho i must say, when we had a rat in our house (the size of a small dog  ) He WAS that grey color...I like my Splinter with a deep, rich chocolate brown... :goofygri:

I do think his new outfit looks better than the old piece of tattered pink cloth they put on him.

It wasnt pink, it was...maroon. :D Heh, yeah, i'd actually like to see him in a pair of pants, like in my pics... :thyper:

karpo: You must remember that this cartoon is actually more focused towards kids than the older generation (argue about it all you want), so I'm guessing there're gonna HAVE to be some vehicles in it. Kids dig that in cartoons.
Besides, I swear that first vehicle looks like it came straight out of the CGI pilot.

Machias Banshee
10-11-2002, 02:56 PM
Yeah, i noticed that too...but hey, i'm sure they'll do a better job when they draw him... ;) I'd rather have him look like part dog, than anteater. :P

Well in archie comic splinter looked like a dog... But in mirage and the old cartoon he looked just like a rat. And the new figure looks like a rat too.

Yeah, i like to draw Splinter archie style...Make him tall too... :goofygri:

I'll tell you though the worse who made Splinter look like a dog was that concert tour they did. I took my nephew to see it (just so I could go of course) and when Splinter came out he asked me who the puppy was. :)

Oh Geez... I'd like to see him like in the Archies...long black trenchcoat....samurai suit....a towel and a smile... :D I'm drawing a pic of him sometime soon, that might just work into this convo, if you get interested...
Its about time for new pictures! Heck yea, this is what Im talking about! Look how fgreat the vehicles look, these'll be so much fun!!!!!!! And finally I can update my site. :D

Thank God my parents were poor during that time and never took me to see it, even when it was in SA. (please pardon the size...)

*loks at splinter... suddenly starts LOL* I dont know what it is... but there is something not right about him. I think it's the burlap sack for a kimono that's doing it. Man, that needs sleeves... or a better quality fabric.
The armor truck turned into Turtle Van looks cool though. I highly doubt that would be in the show... cause, uh... up goes the question of how many cops will pull them over for fear they might blow up a building or something with it! :goofygri:

The COOTS Splinter seems to have some "racoon eyes" going...
You know HT, that was one of the odd things in the original cartoons...like in April Foolish...Don just conveniently left the TurtleBlimp in full view on a rooftop. No one bothered it.

It's a cartoon; what did you expect?
Aztec General
10-12-2002, 12:33 PM
Karpo,
In the new Mirage series the Turtles have an armored van. Besides this new van is pretty plain unlike the absurd looking one from the original cartoon. Also it has missles and just think about all the stuff they can blow up with them!! Remember those awful old toys with "Pizza Projectiles"?
Don't get too afraid my man, it is very possible to make an action cartoon that older fans can respect and enjoy, and that is not inappropriate for children too. Just look at: Spiderman (from the '90s), X-Men (from the '90s), and the various Batman/Superman/JLA shows. I should also point out that almost all of these shows started off on Fox. Also don't worry because judging by the look of the characters, toys, mini-comic, and the first episode storyline the characters will be taken more seriously with much more Mirage influence. Until I see it fall through I'm very optimistic.

I like the way Shredder looks, and will make sure to collect the entire series when they go on sale. :tlol:

I hope they would make him look more like the mirage one... I really love the Terminator movies, but that look dosent suit Shredder.

Just got back from checking out that page you linked for me, Karpo...
They run about 5 bucks a piece now, and issue 5's still at the cover price ($2.95 American).

I saw them & SWEET! I just don't like the way the new Splinter looks & where's Beebop & Rocksteady?
azure turtle
10-29-2002, 07:45 PM
I don't think Bebop and Rocksteady are going to be in the new cartoon. The new 'toon is being based off of the Mirage comics, and Bebop and Rocksteady (along with Krang) were created for the original cartoon. The odds are against them from making an appearance in the show or the new toyline... :(

Then you wont watch it. There is no chance that Bepop or Rockstady is going to apperar. Atleast as long as Peter Laird is involved.
