Well, having purchased the season 1 DVD of the classic TMNT show, i my interest in TMNT has been renewed a little. I decided to dig through storage and see what I could come up with. When we last moved I didn't bother to pack up my old toys myself so I knew the movers probably threw it all in a box and I probably lost a lot of stuff. I went into my search with an open mind.

First off the bad news, there were a couple of casualties. My Turtle Pizza Shooter was broken to peices, and my Neutrino car/Footcruiser was scratched to heck and backl and was missing one of its antenas which ticked me off to no end. (If anyone has an extra anteana and would sell it to me for $2-$3 I would really appreciate it.)

The good news is that, besides half the stupid turtle variants in wacky outfits that were busted up and missing parts, my core collection remained relaticely unharmed and in surprisingly good condition.

I got most of these guys in 1989-1992 so they have some play wear on them. I expected them to be far worse off than they were. I was thrilled that so much had survived. The turtles were missing most of those ninja stars and little dagger weapons they came with but I found a couple of them. Besides that the rest were pretty much complete with thier accesories. They have minor play wear but all in all are in great shape!! There is a shelf above my window that I wasn't using for anything and it now proudly displays my classic collection that includes the following:

Splinter (outfit, belt, Bow and Arrow and cane/knife all intact)
Leonardo (Both Katanas and belt intact)
Donatello (Both Bos, but one loop holder broken off belt)
Rapheal (Both Sais, trangular dagger, and belt intact)
Michelangelo (Both Nunchucks and belt INTACT!)
April (Case and flashlight, the camera/gun was lost apparantly :( )
Casey Jones (Bag, golf putter and both baseball bats intact)
Usagi Yojimbo (All three swords and staff intact!)
Ray Filet (Harpoon and little fish stix guy intact)
Krang (Bubble walker and all accesories intact)
Shredder(cape, belt, and Katana intact)
Foot Soldier (Two knives, rest missing)
Foot Soldier (Mace weapon, rest missing)
Bebop (Drill, Knife, Trash can lid intact)
Rocksteady (Rifle, Sewer sheild, belt, knife intact)
Slash (Belt, Sai, Mace, Knife, Nunchuck all intact)

I also found the complete Turtle Blimp, and inflated it and sat it on the top shelf of my dresser. So I have all those figures I listed set up on the shelf above my window and the blimp on my dresser. Not bad considering those were childhood playthings. I was surpised they held up so well.

Not perfect, but heck I'd think ANY collector would be more than happy to have a small set like that in such good shape considering how old they all are. It hits a nostalgic twinge each time I enter my room now. I am quite happy.

man.. I had most of those except Slash, April and Ray Fillet....

If I haven't moved, I still woulda had my collection intact cause i'm always very careful with all my stuff... All I got from the old stuff is my brother's Rocksteady figure.

Well when I think back to all my friends I had as a kid, I remember that every last one of them had lost or broken Michelangelo's Nunchucks. And I don't remember anyone of them who hadn't broken the dome to Krang's Bubble walker and lost the arms to it. The fact that my small collection has both those items intact is a miracle it seems. I was always careful with Krang's stuff because I could tell it was fragile.

I used a screwdriver and took the footcruiser completely apart. It had some messed up parts, and lots of scratches where it got thrown around in our last move. I have decided to repaint it myself and try to get it looking in tip top shape again. The only part that is missing and I can't fix because it isn't present is one of the two antenaes that could have those goofy flags on them. I still have one of them but I need a second. I would probably be willing to pay around $6 now for one if somebody was willing to part with one and send it to me. Anyway, I will post pictures hopefully when I complete it. I am planning to paint it Blue like the one the Neutrinos left for the turtles in season 1 of the classic show.

But that does lead to some small confusion on my part just on a show related topic about continuity. In season 1, the Neutrinos took the red starcruiser back to Dimension X and left the Blue one for the Turtles to use. But it ran out of fuel in the following episode and was stored in thier lair until a later season. I forget what season but in a later episode, Donatello tries to fix up the Starcruiser so they can use it again, but in this later episode it is RED!

So basically my question is this, did the turtles repaint the Blue car red, or was there some sort of mix up when the animators made that episode? That's always bugged me a little.

It was probably an animator mistake. They made a ton of those.

I can help you with some missing accesories. I've got April's camera, a foot soldier staff, and a broken foot soldier mace. It's broken, but it's yours if you want it.

My Turtle Pizza Shooter was broken to peices, <- oh man... I would've KILLED for one of those....

The only thing left from all our moves/my parents "cleaning" is my brother's Mikey plush.

Do you guys remember the turtles with the holes in their shell that you pulled a little plastic...string...thing (it was a long rectangle actually)...and they would talk? I remember them appearing at christmas a couple times.

THE TURTLE BLIMP ACTUALLY INFLATED?!?! :: drool ::

Yeah, that's very kind of you Zackatello. You are saying you would just give me those peices?

Man the peice I wish I had was the other antenae for the foot cruiser. When I repaint it and do a custom job on it I want it to look awesome, but it won't unless I come up with another antenae. Bummer..

I had the figures on and off as kid. I remember even my granparen't next door nabor gave me some stuff. I can remember the Party Wagon, Mutant Module, Ace Duck, Metalhead, and there was other stuff to but I can't remember it. But I really started collecting TMNT again back in 2002. It seems like a long time ago but it hasn't even been two years yet. Anyway, I now have:
All four re-issue TMNT
Reissue Splinter
Original April with blue stripe
Shredder
Foot soldier
April with yellow and purple jumpsuit
Fugitoid
Metalhead
Dirtbag
Mutagen Man
Party Wagon
And I also have two of the little turtles that came from the old ooze canisters. I am actualy working out a deal right now for a MIB Channel Six news Van.

Jester, that's great! I did the same thing with my casey! I thought about takin an old april and a new april and switchin their heads to make another secret origins custom April. Then I could put the old head on the new body, paint the shirt green, and give her Rogue's jacket from the legends 5 pack for a red sky april.
