HOLY CRAP! That is THE most rare es, never produced but if you ask me, $600.00 is not enough for the price of that awesome figure. That is absolutly awesome! I wish I had the money, I would buy it instantly!

wow, do you think we could transform this thread into like a post prototype pics here? It seems like a lot of people knew this figure was out there, and I never heard of it! Thanks so much for posting, but can someone tell me what line this guy was supposed to be in? I'm guessing the old school line, but which series?
Wow keep rocking guys :)

That is truly awesome, I would love to buy it, but I can't afford it. Maybe some day I will be able to buy it. I mean it is a small world after ALL right??? :trolleye:

I was in the middle of purchasing this piece from Jordan but i could not continue to make payments. I'm actually glad i couldn't because it is selling for $200 less than what i was going to pay for it. I just might use the BIN but i'll wait a little bit. Awesome piece and well worth the money.

Hes from warriors of the forgotten sewer him along with Knight Leo and a few others never got released. But Spellcaster Splinter is the only one I have seen a proto-type for. Plus this ones not half as rare as one of the two that actually got painted.
But yeah if you guys want I can change the name to "Proto-type pics" or something to taht extent and just post turtle prototypes from here on out

It's funny how that savage leo was released but the other's weren't though cause you see him everywhere.
Were Warrior Bebop and Gatekeeper Rocksteady part of that set too?

I hope you guys realize how rare the Spellcaster Splinter Shop Copy is. This might be the only one in existence. Who knows what happened to the two painted hardcopies. When this auction is over it may never appear again. If i had bought it when i had the chance i would never let this piece out of my collection and at $600 it is a steal. Just my thoughts.

I have no way of uploading pictures, but I do have a few prototype pics I found. One I had a long time ago of when the new line was just being made, it's the new leonardo's body but with a more old school mirage comics type head. Pretty cool.

were they based off of the wb tmnt idea that was going around befor the fox box thing
Spitfire
06-20-2004, 03:50 PM
I changed the topic name from now we can post any prototype pics we come across in here ^_^ Im not sure if they are based of the WB show but Ectocooler said it was a early sculpt of the Leo toy that we have now
BigApple3AM
06-20-2004, 04:56 PM
Yeah, actually they may have been based off the wb toon concept, but I think they were really basing it on the old mirage comics art, which is what the wb concept was based on. Personally I like the new figure heads a lot more, and I remember when these pictures were released people were pretty pissed. Funny to see people actually wish they would release them now :P
I thought it was neat, that's why I saved the pics. I wish I saved more prototype pictures now. I remember in a toy magazine they showed concept pictures of some vehicles that were never made and mike's sidewalk surfer was one of them.
Please post more prototype pictures if you have them :)

Wow, $600 for a Spellcaster Splinter prototype.. Though I would never pay it, I think it's a steal... One of the rarest of all TMNT's....I've never even seen it for sale anywhere in any form.
I used to have a Ninja April figure with a picture of Knight Mike on the back which was cool. He, too, I have never even seen for sale in any form. I wouldn't be surprised if his prototype would fetch $600 too..

WOWZERS! :o :o I had no idea they had plans to make more Warriors of the Forgotten Sewer figures, that Wizard Splinter kicks ass & a Knight Mikey figure would have been cool too. ::thinks for a second:: Waitaminute, why does that Warriors of the Forgotten Sewer toyline seem like a sort of "TMNT meets Dungeons & Dragons"? :-?
http://www.terrible2z.com/meamtokka/photographicas/tmnts/unproduced-jracers.jpg
Hey, that Sidewalk surfer did get made, just not for the TMNT toyline. Playmates' Toxic Crusaders toyline made that thing for it. They called it Toxie's Toxic Turf Surfer I think.
Cool Jim Lee Leo figure, were there any other TMNT characters that where never made into toy form? Like some mutant animals that got sculpted but dropped for something else? :-?

Actually the warriors of the forgotten sewer leonardo was based off Conan the Barbarian (like the Ahnuld movie or the comics) he's so similar from the belt buckle down to the boots. I'm surprised they got away with it. Black long hair even.

Not exactly sure, I'm a conan fan so it was obvious to me that Leo was based off of conan, but the other characters could be from anything or could just be generic.
