If Playmates is lacking talent and effort in these new toys, then why not have Peter Laird give them ideas or approve of their finished products?
Maybe if Laird talks to the folks at Playmates, these toys, especially
Baxter & Usagi, will improve. After all, he is the creator and should have some say in how his characters are made. If he cares anything about the toys, he has to be upset about Baxter & Usagi.

He gets to decide if the toy is made or not as far as what Playmates makes its all up to playmates. He signed a contract and now all of it is out of his hands. The most he can do is approve of the toy

Peter Laird is much too busy with the comic books and the websites to worry about drawing again, let alone for the toy designs.

Yet I know if he had the time he would definitely do it.
