The technodrome's boring and drilling capabilities

If you've noticed, the technodrome does rather well in subterranean regions. It has extensive and powerful drilling mechanisms and can move through rock with little effort. It's able to move make it's own path through rock and subterranean areas as well as the ability to move right through mountains. These characteristics of the technodrome as well as the numberous rock soldiers in Dimension-X might be an indication of what Dimension-X is like geologically and what kind of terrain exists there.

wow!! intresting theory unix!! I never thought about it that way!! The Technodrome appeared orriginally subterranian, what we do see of Dimension X does not appear to be a rocky underground world though. I doubt the writers were thinking about this when they wrote it though. Rock soilders were just an anti war message back then same with Krang the Neutrinos, Dimension X etc...

Even after the time of the Neutrinos, the rock soldiers still existed. I mentioned them because if Krang were able to make so many, then obviously, there must be a lot of rock in Dimension-X.

And what we do see of Dimension-X isn't doesn't say much, either. And even when the technodrome was brought back to Earth, the threat Krang made was to create a massive earthquake with the technodrome's earthquake drill.

I'm guessing that the technodrome's subterranean and boring capabilities existed because of the rocky world of dimension-x and/or as a means to conquer worlds in a subversive manner.

What intrigues me the most, is the side and top cannons. I'm guessing that the top ones are used as anti-aircraft measures and the side cannons are used for something along the same lines.

Ok. First of all, we don`t know where the Technodrome was built: Earth or Dimension X?
I kinda believes that the Technodrome was built in Dimension X, due to the fact that Berserko/Drafus was one of it`s original designer. As you can see, the Technodrome wasn`t 100% completed in the first season, they were making some modifications to it, like adding a portal chamber. So, it could be that Krang was banned inside of the Technodrome.

As you can see, the Technodrome just has drills together with the wheels, and, to my opinion, those wouldn`t be able to drill nothing.... Sure that behind the outside shell there are more drills and stuff like missile launchers.

The laser cannons.... well, they are surely made to blast powerful laser blasts, but they can`t aim very well, just vertically. The same goes for the side cannons. The top cannons can be rotated (just as the eye in the centre). BTW, that eye is the Technodrome`s communication equipment, as it`s the main cannon.

But form the most interesting is: how can the technodrome emerge? I mean, how can it drill the rocks above it and "levitates" bringing the wheels and the main dome with it, we have a hint on how it can do it in "Big Break In" and "Big Blow out".

He he, I wish I really could built a Technodrome, it isn`t impossible, since it`s made of titanium and this metal isn`t very heavy. It would be quite expensive....

The technodrome was made on Earth in my opinion. The main reason Krang was probably building it was to conquer the earth since he got banished from Dimension x. Drakus was possibly banished as well, I dunno how to explain how else they could've met. But also about the technodrome's drills... if they had these really powerful drills why didn't they use the drills on the ice in the artic or the dry lava in dimension x? Another thought... if Krang has all these creative little devices then why didn't he build one that captured energy from the heat at the Earth's Core... the writers probably portrayed the technodrome in whatever fit the plot best.

The drills on the tracks I think were more for drilling rock as the technodrome rolled through whatever was in its path. The technodrome has drills that come out like the earthquake drill and the drills used in the Big BreakOut.

The main cannon on front was used to blast rock as seen in the first Episode with shredder and it was also used as a weapon in Return of The Technodrome.

The technodrome was badly damaged when it crashed into that asteroid in dimension-X. I think that's the reason it couldn't drill it's way free from the lava bed. Plus the drills it has are for subterranean purposes. Same thing goes for the Arctic ice.

But I agree with you about the writers making the technodrome fit the scenario.

It was badly damaged in the beginning of season 4 but as the season progressed Shredder and Krang repaired it and everything was worth it. And come on... you think that drills made to drill rock underground can't take out something as simple as ice?! The dry lava maybe but definitely not ice.

give the writers a break after all the show was for kids, i don't think when you first wached the show you thought about that stuff

True, little kids dont care if there's continuity or not. Altough as a kid i saw ony the first 3 seasons, I have always liked the first one best.
