I recently bought a previsouly used tape of donatello makes time/ donatello's degree in a video store(The tape was in the cover of the April foolish Box, the BK tape) and mikey had grapling hooks in this one. I heard about the whole getting rid of the nunchuck things which made no sense since other movies (like leprechaun in space) had nunchucks.


DOn delt with 2 scientists (what the tape had in common). There were no Shredder eps in this one. The only other season 4 ep I have on tape so far is tempestra's revenge. That did not have shredder. I only have 3 season 4 eps on tape. I thought pyscho loyd was CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! I wonder who this miss Dona tello was that don thought the degree was sent to him. I remember seing this ep a long time ago. I remember seeing funny we shrunk Michelangelo at times a long time ago and that was one of my favs (That was bazarre of TAlbot shrinking the ships to get revenge on the naval academy and I remember his cat chasing mikey alot and the cat about to get mikey just before he grew back to normal and I remember Talbot shrinking in the end and almost rememer his cat chasing him in the end after he shrunk, he was just crazy and I remember him playing with the shrunken ships in the bathtub and mikey being in the ships and him saying nobody plays with my toys but me and trying to swat mikey saying you've bugged me more enough and saying a tiny turtle when he saw the shrunken michelangelo in the bottle with one of his shrunken ships). IT seems that the secondary bad guy that the indivudal turtle faced was just nuts.

It seems that once the series got to CBs, It was going beyond the confines of shredder(season 3 started to do that alittle since, The case of the hot kimono, The great baldini, enter the rat king and leatherhead meets the Rat King had no shredder) and the 3rd movie came out in the 3rd year of being on CBS and had no shredder. It seems that things were going past the confines of shredder being the villain

What I am trying to say is that Mikey had no nunchucks in the Donatello makes time and tell you what I remember of Season 4 and that when the show went on CBS we were seeing less and less of shredder(that slowly started in season 3) and I heard that seeing less of him got to the point of where he was no longer a part of the regular cast later on. I forgot to say I remember also seeing Big Cufflink Caper and the are other eps I barley remember. I am giving you all my comments of these eps.

Taking away Michaelangelo's nunchaku because of parants complaining and whatever else reasons is one of the stupidest things ever done to an animated series. Mikey's nunchaku is too leathal and sends wrong messeges to kids, but Leonardo's katana is ok??? That just shows how stupid adults can be.

I've always wondered why Mikey got rid of his chucks near the end of the entire series. When I asked my parents, they said, "I don't know. That's kind of dumb. That grappling hook isn't even that ninja-related."

My parents didn't care. They're the responsible kind that trusts their kids with what they watch on T.V.

Yeah, they could have thought of a much better replacement than a grappling hook. Even the Next Mutation had tonfas, which is sort of a step up. They should have given him a hockey stick and some baseball bats.

I think it was because nunchucks at the time were popular with gangs in the UK, or something like that. Not sure though.

Nunchuku type weapons are easy to make... go get some rocks, put them in a sock, and presto little Jhonny is now a ninja turtle! Oh look, his friend's pretending to be shredder... better stop evil Shredder! *whack whack whack* Oh look, little Jhonny killed Shredder!

i was watching Short Circuit II the other day and the gang, Los Lobos (Los lobos kick your teeth, los lobos kick your face, los lobos kick your butt into outer space!!!!) had chucks....so the gang weapon may be the biggest reason.....

The grappling hook just didn't suit Mikey as well. He was better off with nunchaku.

There was just so much to say about professor Lloyd Pyschloid. HE is just crazy. Like when he rigged the door so that when it opens don would fall into toxic slime, he said turtle soup. Then he said laughed and said he must put it in his memores(memos) . HE was just crazy looking, like having a long nose for an example. a lot of the stuff he said he laughed. There is just so much other crazy stuff it is hard for me to remember everything when I post this. HE may have been tied with Talbot breech (the captain who shrank the ships in the bay to get even with the naval academy) as my fav random villian in season 4, that may change if I ever see the rest of season 4 soon, since I barley remember the eps.

When the door was rigged so that don would fall into the toxic slime once anyone would open it, I saw no way of Don getting out.

In donatello makes time, raph showed a rebelllion, like when the turtles knew donny was in danger he said don can handle him (cycloid) himself and went when splinter said you were saying.

The had the same background music through the ep alot(in the scences when something got frozen). That was the same background music as when the turtles were floating in the air in the lair and when they were in the turtle blimp seeing everything go into the sky, when it snowed in the museum in the great boldini (I almost remember them having that background music in that scene, I saw the ep ALOT and haven't seen it in over 10 years) and when mikey got frozen in Burne's blues.

The reason they switched Mikey's nunchakus into a grappling hook was that when children pretended to be the turtles, it was easy to make nunchakus. However, not many children know how to actually use them.

The nunchaku is capable of generating 800 pounds per square inch, more than enough to break a human bone. Children often attempted to mimic Mikey's movements and ended up hurting themselves or others.

About Leo's katanas, it is much harder for a child to make a real sword than to take two pieces of wood and some rope or chain to make a nunchaku.

The weapon was not removed from the American shows because of the gang connection but because of the simplicity of a child being able to hurt himself.
