It just seems like the typical double mutated storyline we see in every series, just this time with Bane venom. It's like the Turtles new mutations in Season 9 of the original cartoon, Don in 4kids, Gamera Raph in Mirage Volume 4, then Leo being double mutated in the Nick mutant apocalypse finale, etc.

I was wondering if they would do this plot this time around.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1

When Donatello goes looking for a new mentor to help him improve his fighting skills, he opens a doorway to another reality, hoping to summon the Turtles’ one-time ally, Batman. But instead, he gets sent to Gotham City and someone else comes through the open portal —Bane! Suddenly, there’s a new gang boss in New York and he’s out to unite all the other bad guys under him. Can Donnie get back in time and bring Batman with him to help his brothers before Bane causes irreparable destruction?

Batman and the Turtles go on the offensive in the belief that they can take Bane down while he’s weakened, due to a lack of venom on the Turtles’ world. But that’s not true any more! The Turtles’ foe Baxter Stockman has found a way to reproduce the deadly substance that feeds Bane—which means the Dark Knight and the Heroes in a Half-Shell are in for the fight of their lives.

Wow! Splinter dead (or at least mortally injured) and Donnie on venom?? What will they think of next!

Based on the covers and the new solicitation, I think maybe Bane comes over to the Turtles' world at some point after Shredder's death, when Splinter has taken over the Foot. Then Bane arrives, somehow finds Bebop and Rocksteady, amps them up on venom, takes over the Foot, and kills (or seriously hurts) Splinter. Cue Batman coming in with Robin to help the Turtles and tell them about Bane, and later in a fit of desperation Donnie decides to take some venom himself. Where will this go from there? I have no idea

Thanks for the covers.

I noticed that IDW will reprint Rick Veitch's The One in february. Is there still hope for a reprint of The River trilogy and Sky Highway?
