Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is planning to bring Marvel superhero, Jessica Jones, to television, according to Variety. AKA Jessica Jones is being considered for ABC’s slate next fall, and Brian Michael Bendis, who created the comic-book series in 2001 (it was originally titled, Alias), will be a consultant for the show.
The scary part about this article..... TWILIGHT screenwriter...They should just make a Heroes for Hire tv series.

The Stryker 12-17-2010 01:42 PM

I think the bigger problem is that Bendis is working on it.

Candy Kappa 12-17-2010 01:52 PM

The Twilght Screen-Writer and Bendis... must be a joke

AKA Jessica Jones? Really? That sounds horrible. I liked it better when they were calling it Alter Ego. This is too bad. Give Alias to a good showrunner, throw it on a network like FX (where Bendis' other work, Powers is getting a show), and it could be great. Alias would lend itself great to a gritty noir show. Oh well.

Krysten Ritter has officially been cast as Jessica Jones who apparantly also goes by the name of Julia.

I like Ritter but out of the finalists I was really hoping Dadarrio got the part.

Davetello 12-05-2014 09:32 AM

Ahh, I remember her from Breaking Bad. She was good in the show, let's hope she's good in JJ.

Jones always seemed a bit more...solid, physically, than Ritter is. She's kind of waify and willowy.

I've got to give the Twilight screenwriter some credit, they took some really horrid source material and did something with it. That's way better than a lot of past comic movies and book adaptations have gotten.

Here's the teaser for the Jessica Jones series, the show is set to premiere on November 20th.

plastroncafe 09-10-2015 10:46 AM

Yup. I will be watching the ever living daylights out of this show.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 09-10-2015 11:32 AM

Most definitely.

Autbot_Benz 09-10-2015 12:57 PM

I am only watching this show cause David Tennant is a villain and he is one of my favorite actors. Other than that I don't know jack about J Jones

plastroncafe 09-10-2015 01:13 PM

The comic is well worth the read, though warning: It's from the darker/edgier Marvel Universe intended for mature audiences. So...read at your own risk.

Finally got a chance to watch that teaser, and holy hell, I really love Marvel's dark edgy TV. This looks right up my alley, just like Daredevil. Can't WAIT.

Also, about time we got an edgy badass protagonist who was a woman. Maybe Marvel will beat Wonder Woman to the punch after all...

Out of the 4 Marvel Netflix series announced this was the one I was most excited about. I know what I'll be doing over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Before Daredevil, I didn't trust them to pull this off. But if Marvel can create a serious morally-conflicted shades-of-gray real-world comic-book-story once (Daredevil), then why not again? :tgrin:

ToTheNines 09-10-2015 04:48 PM

Hell yeah, finally can mark my calendar.

TurtleTitan97 09-10-2015 05:25 PM

I'm really looking forward to it. Loved the Alias comics.

chrisdude 09-10-2015 08:07 PM

Very excited for this. Hopefully, I'll have that weekend off, and binge like a mofo. If it's half as good at the book, I won't be able to stop.

Read the five-issue Purple Man confrontation, couldn't get into any of the other "Alias" storyarcs... I think Jessica Jones is awesome, though, and can't wait to see this translated to screen.
