Aren't really any cool new characters left that aren't already cameos, except maybe Zack... but ugh... or Carter... no thanks. I mean to be honest, April, Splinter and Casey were already 'dlc-worthy' characters if they weren't in the game already.
Actually, I just remembered Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa. Maybe even Lotus? But yeah, when you think about it, the OT Turtles didn't have that many allies that weren't just the Channel 6 crew and Zack and whatnot. Most of the 'toy' characters were villains. Anyways, it seems everyone gets their own unique one panel ending, and there's a cool extra pan up shot if you find all the hidden cameo characters. |
Zack (Zach? I forget) should be brought back as a villain.
Seriously though. "You guys were my heroes, and you just FORGOT about me!" And he knows all of their secrets. Lot of meat on the bone, there. Bring him back and have him go full Jason Todd, that'd be great. :trazz: |
On a scale from 1 to 10, how surprising would it be if the DLC and/or sequel would use characters like Hun or Bishop?
Personally I'd say a 6. The game is obviously needlessly vehement about sticking to Fred Wolf references, to the point where they actively chose to use the single worst design for Slash, simply because that's what he looked like in the show. But then again, it's not like the Konami games cared about only sticking to Fred Wolf references and it's not like there's anything other than creative decisions keeping them from using characters who weren't ever in the Fred Wolf cartoon. |

Kinda wish the voices were better for everyone else. Leatherhead and all them sound so off. And why do the Neutronoes sound like old dudes? It's like they forgot to add the 'high pitch' filter on them or something. |
Even though it would never happen and it's way too soon to be talking about a sequel, I would love it if they did a Turtles Forever type game with the Mirage, 80s, 2k3, and even 2k12 Turtles. The level and enemy variety would be insane.
Multiverses are quite popular today and TMNT are no strangers to it. As much as I would like separate games like Shredder's Revenge based on different eras just to prove not everything has to be 80s TMNT to sell, I think a multiverse game would just make a lot more sense and work as a celebration of of the franchise while using the 80s brand to bank on the arcade game nostalgia. |

Though this game might only have the Turtles playable due to all the different types. They should play different and not just be different skins. Or maybe have them be skins with different voices and make each turtle fight in a more universal style that would fit all the incarnations and leave the actual difference to characters with more dramatic changes like April, Casey and Karai. Just replace Karai with Lotus when it comes to the OT. But yeah, imagine stages being like the Technodrome, Shredder's Tower from 2K3, the 2012 version of Dimension X, the TCRI building, etc. |

Groundchuck, Dirtbag, Leathhead, Baxter etc. all sound very similar to their OT voices. Also props to whoever did Shredder and Krang, Shredder in particular sounds just like the replacement Shredder VA's we had in the OT. |
Finally on to Splinter to be the last one to get to level 10! Looks like I've put 20 hours into the game so far, and still lovin' it a lot!

The Neutrinos were the worst. The channel 6 crew still sounded along the lines of bad imitators but the Neutrinos just got bad voice direction. Loved all the unique lines. Some characters get specific lines at the start of each stage or when a boss arrives. Like Donnie will tell Metalhead he'll fix him up, Leo tells Tempestra that it's game over for her and so forth. I like it cause it makes each playthrough a little different since you can't hear all the lines if you're not using the right character. |

They were only able to get 4 of the original cast, They probably couldn't get Pat Fraley for Krang nor Peter Renaday for Splinter.

God damn this music is so ****in catchy.
It's like a beat-em-up fiesta. Some tunes have hints of Battletoads and Double Dragon, Double Dragon Neon, Streets of Rage, the X-Men arcade soundtrack, hell the overall Konami sound and even bits from the classic TMNT soundtrack. I'm glad they kept a remixed version of Krang's cartoon theme. And then Shredder slaughters you with his roast rap before he even sets a finger on you. |

I wasn’t sure if this was said before but does anyone know if Spoiler:

I beat the game in about 3 hours. Not bad. Want more though.

That is such a neatly made mod, i'm gonna try it soon...i am guessing i will need a sepparate copy other than my official steam one?Since it is modifying the game. I was not aware of the rumors about mona lisa having some files left over, i wonder if any hidden art will show up if/when somebody datamines the game. Quote:

Apparently April's fighting style is inspired by Cynthia Rothrock from the movie "Yes, Madam."

Maybe we'll see some new things after some version updates.

Here's Mona Lisa, I wish the image was bigger, She's pretty cute.

Interesting.
I hope they re-add some of this stuff. |
Wow they’re so cute. All the sprites are. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder why they've removed Tiffany flirting with Bebop.
Quite a funny moment and gives Bebop more character, in a weird way. |

“Nickelodeon wanted to change it and I honestly think it was a good call because it didn't "tie" into anything. You don't see Tiffany ever again but Vernon sort of eases you into the game and out of it at the end, so it was better to have him in there. Carrying Vernon away is funnier too I think” “It's funnier to have Vernon being a damsel in distress but it was also more important because he appears in the intro and the outro of the game as well. It sort of carries the initial story better than Tiffany, who was just meant to appear in the first level.” |

Over a million copies sold! Fantastic.
This game deserves all its rave success, and I can only see more good things to come out of this. |
Yeah, I figured it would sell that well though I'm curious to see how The Cowabunga Collection will sell in comparison. Also would like to know how popular this game is on Game Pass with it being six players, online and all.
Interestingly, the NES game is said to have sold over 4 million copies. Not bad for a game considered the "black sheep" in comparison to the sequels. |
People are buying the game because it's cheap also, only $25 so it's an easy sell. I'm glad they didn't make it $40-$50 because that would have been too much for most people.
