I'm really surprised they didn't add any new modes. Boss Rush, a Time trial similar to Turtles in Time with short segments of each level, any type of Vs. mode just fighting another human character in 1 on 1.

I didn't see anything particularly interesting other than balance updates. I was hoping for hidden stages or Lotus Blossom or something.

RaphaelinSTL 12-26-2022 10:58 PM

Honestly, this was more like a small, fun free update that just added a little bonus setting and some little adjustments.

I keep thinking they’ll probably do DLC now given how successful the game has been.

CyberCubed 12-27-2022 03:52 PM

The only DLC I'd be interested in is new levels, like say 5 new stages with 5 new bosses, but I doubt that will happen.

Most likely the DLC will just be something lame like making the Punk Frogs playable since they already made their character models, so I doubt I'll care about something like that.

I haven't even received my Limited Run Games copy of this yet. I haven't played a video game in a few years now and yet, ironically I'm waiting on three games from Limited Run - their Blade Runner release, this TMNT game and when I ordered that I impulse bought their Contra collection.

At this point I don't know that I'll ever play any of them.

Still? Yuck. Sorry to hear that. I ended up double dipping and grabbing a physical copy from Amazon just to have.

I ordered that lost FMV game American Hero from them over the summer and it finally showed up towards the end of last month or so. Truthfully outside of grabbing Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, I really hope I never have to order anything from them again.

I got on board with Limited Run Games from the get-go with Saturday Morning RPG and I stuck with every single Playstation 4 release they did for a couple of years actually.

And then it became a regular bill - the releases weren't so special and they basically turned into a subscription publishing company. I sold I think 95% of my LRG collection after cutting off somewhere around Firewatch....

I honestly don't know how much play time I'll actually get out of any of those three games though. They were a great company but they "rose to the occasion" of consumer demand by far surpassing "rising to the occasion" and went all "Cash grab publisher".

SwitchRiver City Girls 2 standard (still preorder, wanted physical to commemorate Marian as a playable brawler)
Switch NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection v2 standard (still preorder, just wanted it in physical copy due to Mega Man games)

Want to see:
Samurai Pizza Cats for NES
New Ghostbusters 2 for Nes
Back to the Future for Snes

I'm glad they capped the taunt charging at 1/3 bars. That was way too easy/tempting to exploit

Could easily be an entire thread dedicated exclusively to Limited Run Games. Some of the titles they've released are artsy and amazing....

Arcade beat 'em up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is now available on mobile exclusively for Netflix subscribers. https://www.ign.com/articles/tmnt-sh...flix-exclusive

It plays very well on my iPhone and it’s free. Cool. :tcool:

RaphaelinSTL 01-13-2023 11:34 PM

When thinking of villains that could show up in a sequel, who do you think would appear in Shredder's Revenge 2?

I'm sure it's probably a given that Shredder, Krang and Rocksteady/Bebop would return in some fashion ... but for bringing in other characters, for me, it'd have to be ...

* Lord Dregg (maybe the main baddie?)
* Smash and the Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang (would love for them to have their own level like the Triceraton)
* Scumbug
* Antrax
* Mutagen Man
* Dirk Savage
* Scrag
* Brainwashed Rex-1 and the Shredder Rex-1 army
* Granitor
* Super Bebop and Mighty Rocksteady (they could appear later on after you beat Bebop and Rocksteady)
* Pinky Mcfingers (or some other notable mob name from the show)
* Drakus

Coola Yagami 01-16-2023 08:49 PM

I'd probably do it like the later Megaman games where it looks like Lord Dregg is the big bad this time around, but once you get to the later levels, Shredder comes in and takes over as the final boss.

CyberCubed 01-17-2023 06:10 PM

I doubt there will be a sequel, they didn't even announce DLC. It seems like the developers are interested in moving on to other cartoons. The 90's X-men is being heavily rumored to be a possible game for them especially with a new season of the series coming out this year.

Would also love to see them make a new Simpsons beat 'em up as a sequel to the classic 90's Simpsons arcade game.

DLC for SOR4 wasn't even announced until a year after it came out, so it isn't unlikely for Dotemu to be holding off until a months later this year.

I'm of the mind we'll see something, but if not — the game itself is still such a treat that has warranted so many revisits for me.

As far as X-Men goes though, I have yet to see that. Is that in reference to Dotemu or Tribute Games? Honestly, the original X-Men arcade game deserves another chance to be ported over to current systems again. Another X-Men beat em up is something I'm 100% down for though.

Sabacooza 01-17-2023 11:13 PM

Maybe it's just me but I prefer they skip the dlc and save it for the sequel.

I'd love to see that. At the very least that deserved a sequel back in the day.

RaphaelinSTL 03-16-2023 07:58 AM

We have officially arrived at copycat season. Toxic Crusaders cartoon is getting a super similar Shredder's Revenge treatment, albeit not as smooth, fast or with as good pixel animation.

The timing of this makes sense. There's a new Toxic Avenger reboot directed by Macon Blair and co-produced by Legendary Pictures that sounds like it has good people involved.

IMJ 03-16-2023 11:47 AM

Still haven't opened my LRG TMNT or Contra games.
At this point I'm probably so far behind on the online-playing-curve that it isn't worth it. I'm a (or used to be) trophy hunter and I'm sure plenty of them are online.

Might as well just keep those games sealed so I have something to sell when I'm 60 lmao

neatoman 04-22-2023 06:20 AM

Hey, so I found some mods that might make me be OK with buying this game, but I kind of want to know if they are compatible with each other first:
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/30
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/52
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/99
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/92
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/79
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/12
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/85
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/19

Also, if there is a mod that replaces Bebop and Rocksteady with Hun and Karai, I'd be pretty happy about that.

To answer your first question, most mods would run into conflict trying to run more than one at a time, however, there are some modders who created custom mod-installer programs that make switching-out select mods easier:

Platonymous contributed two substantial programs: API and Custom Skins (and probably the most popular):
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/68
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/70

Several existing mods updated to become more compatible with Platonymous 's work.

These are two more options that might be worth a look:
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/54
https://www.nexusmods.com/tmntshreddersrevenge/mods/60

HOWEVER, with the major December update the game received, it is possible that it will create glitches in existing mods, since several sprite sheets and animation codes were affected. Thus, most character sprite mods would need a further update to keep pace with the code changes.

neatoman 04-25-2023 09:19 AM

Well, that's a bit disheartening.

Really, really looking forward to hearing more about the new game mode. Hoping it's not just a battle rush, but there seemed to be a lot more to it!

Monty Mole 06-07-2023 09:16 AM

That's actually cool as ****! I'll definitely be playing this again.

Monty Mole 06-07-2023 09:28 AM

oldmanwinters 06-07-2023 09:44 AM

That really does look like Archie-era Ninjara and Chien Khan sitting on the sidelines in the video. I thought it must have been Usagi-verse characters in TMNT-styled palettes, but I think it's them!

EDIT:

Also, that's...
Spoiler:

The DLC is called Dimension Shellshock, They'll be dimensional hopping, And we'll see places like the Archie Universe, and Usagi's universe mixed in

Andrew NDB 06-07-2023 10:42 AM

Well, that's cool. Though I'm not really seeing a lot of multi-dimensional stuff in the trailer? Like, are they just hopping into weird sh** (kinda looks like it?) or going to different established TMNT dimensions?

Obviously if there's no Mirage option there that'll be a copout.

Chaotix12345 06-07-2023 10:43 AM

Holy crap, what an unexpected treat to wake up to. Love that they were able to swing Usagi as a DLC character, all the cameos, and all the rad new alt colors. (2K3 AND WRESTLING COSTUMES!!!) Super excited to hear more on this, ESPECIALLY the identities of any other new characters they're adding. (Since this DLC seems to have an multi-dimensional flavor, I'm guessing the others might be more guests like Usagi, OR even characters from other TMNT worlds without '87 show versions, like Karai or Jennika. Definitely has a ton of fun potential!)

I never thought I'd see some of those background characters ever again...

Zulithe 06-07-2023 11:16 AM

Awesome :) DLC will be a Day 1 buy for me, gotta support this great game.

oldmanwinters 06-07-2023 11:20 AM

I get the feeling from the trailer the DLC is more likely to use all the new "stages" as simply single-screen backdrops to the new gameplay (survival?) mode rather than fully realized stages.

TigerClaw 06-07-2023 11:46 AM

Screwloose, Tattoo and Ace Duck also spotted in the trailer.
