Ban Gas Stoves?

A US Consumer Product Safety commissioner said that gas stoves should be banned because they cause indoor pollution:

https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/09/busin...ncy/index.html

Of course AOC was completely on board with it…then someone on Twitter asked her what people should do if there is a power outage and their electric stoves won’t work.

What’s next? A mass extermination of cows to save the ozone?

ChosenOne 01-11-2023 02:31 PM

AOC causes indoor pollution too, ban her.

The ozone layer has already been healing and will be completely healed within our lifetime.

But we can never celebrate the victories. Only onto the next FAKE imminent doom, with these clowns.

First the bureaucrat twig-boys came for Hank's boy, now they try to take away the glory of propane powered stoves and thereby his living? We cannot stand for this!

If it weren't for 24/7 Outrage Porn you'd have nothing to do with yourselves at all. Maybe wait 5 f*cking minutes and see what's really going on before you start tilting at yet another windmill. You stupid, stupid f*cks.

No lives, no purpose, nothing but "Durrrr hurrrr let's skim da headlinez an' see what I can screech about today! Dat be fun!" And most times you haven't the slightest goddamn clue what you're even on about.

Thanks for 20 years of misery and rot, I f*cking hate you all. Hasta.

You should've stopped with that. Because you're right. But we're not the ones doing that, putting that out there into the world.

Yep. CNN started it. They love their fear porn.

So I looked at the link. "We're not going after gas stoves!" except... "Please do switch to electric stoves, we'll give you an incentive to do so in the meanwhile, as we are in the middle of doing studies into the dangers/evils of gas stoves." To what possible other end could that be but... eventually going after gas stoves?

CNN has since updated their original article, but thanks to Tim Pool’s video above, we can see just what kind of changes they did make. This one in particular is eyebrow-raising:

(Original)
“Trumka told Bloomberg the agency plans to open public comment on gas stove hazards. It is still gathering information and preparing to ask for public input, he said.”

(Updated)
“Trumka told CNN the agency plans to open public comment on gas stove hazards, and noted the CPSC has not “coalesced” around a solution. It is still gathering information and preparing to ask for public input, he said.”

This and also an idea picks up steam no matter how ridiculous and then it is possible that gas stoves starting getting in banned in specific places and it’s snowballs from there!

Well I mean, some gas stoves require electricity in order to work....

Andrew NDB 01-12-2023 12:00 PM

We actually don't have a gas stove at home but the wife really wants to upgrade to one. Personally, I've seen enough action movies to where the idea of a gas stove is a little scary to me... so I'm good either way.

Coola Yagami 01-12-2023 12:12 PM

I honestly haven't seen a gas stove since I left Mexico.

But yeah, it sounds like they overplayed their hand and now trying to subtly backtrack but not really.

joe-eyeball 01-12-2023 12:34 PM

I’d be willing to bet the restaurant industry would go berserk if they had to make the switch from gas to electric! If you’re really into cooking it’s almost universally accepted that gas is far superior to electric

The electric igniter wouldn’t work during a power outage, but you can still light the gas burner with a match and cook the meals.

Our family-owned restaurant uses gas stoves to cook the food, so HECK NO, OUR STOVES WON’T GO!

DarkFell 01-15-2023 09:55 PM

I own a gas-powered stove and several gas-powered heaters. There's nothing wrong with either of them. The heaters are old, but they still do work well.

Andrew NDB 03-20-2023 01:10 PM

Sure enough, they're going after gas stoves.

AquaParade 03-20-2023 01:12 PM

But I thought they got embarrassed and backtracked. Everyone I brought it up to said I was silly for acting like they were interesting in actually banning gas stoves.
