what a joke.
nintendo is fast loosing their audience. it's like they don't even care anymore. |

It's neat, and I'll probably get one if it doesn't vanish like morning dew in the sun like the NES did. But the game roster is a bit underwhelming.

Really wish they'd make the controllers bluetooth but otherwise, cool!

That's a great list of games, even if not as plentiful, it's cheaper than getting them on Virtual Console, not only are they all big hits, no padding with smaller games like "Pilotwings" that the NES Classic had but it has games that have never been included in the VC like Star Fox, the never released ever in any shape or form Star Fox 2, Yoshi's Island.
So for many years I got called an idiot for saying that there was no evidence that Nintendo couldn't release the games because they didn't have the rights of the SFX chip but while there has to be something going on, I knew Nintendo wasn't holding back just because of some licensing issues. Fandoms love to create stories about why a certain product can't be produced and then they believe it as fact when there is no evidence. Same thing happened with Earthbound, surely there was something holding it back but it's something we won't ever know and not the speculated reason and nothing is impossible. Even with less games and at 80 bucks it will sell out like the NES classic, could it have less demand? Sure but there's enough people out there to make this unavailable until Nintendo stops producing them. |
Oh, nice. Star Fox 2 is nuts.

So they release the elusive Star Fox 2 that people wanted on the Virtual Console for more than a decade, on something that Nintendo's going to barely make any shipments on and then stop production on in a few monthes like the NES classic?
WTF?! What on earth was stopping them from putting Star Fox 2 on the Virtual Console since the Wii days then? |
Bless you, Nintendo, for finally releasing Star Fox 2.
Curse you, Nintendo, for making it exclusive to a low-production run novelty item where production will fall far short of demand. Even without an exclusive like this, that thing was gonna sell out hours before release day. What are odds it ever gets put on the Virtual Console or whatever the Switch's service is called? |

Nintendo gotta Nintendo. We hate them for it but it's also why we love them. |
Nintendo has been doing a lot of things people have wanted lately:
- Pokemon RBY, and now Gold/Silver are added to the Virtual Console when people thought the old Pokemon games would never be uploaded to them - Metroid II is finally getting a remake - Metroid Prime 4 was announced, Metroid Prime 3 came out in 2007...literally 10 years ago - Mario Kart 8 now finally has proper battle mode maps on the Switch, the Wii-U version did not - Star Fox 2 finally released! - Old franchises like Kid Icarus, Punchout, Starfox, Wario Land, etc. all got revivals in the Wii or Wii-U era. - Mother 3 will likely come out eventually, no way did Nintendo not localize it after all the demand Plus their current games have been cream of the crop. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, etc. have all gotten top tier new entries/sequels lately. |
SNES Classic will have more produced than NES Classic but SNES Classic Production will stop at the end of the year

that's what I don't get.
something like this should be easily producible for YEARS. Why is a giant company like nintendo having shortage problems? something isn't adding up here. |
This seems great, but I don't own only about... 4 games on the list?

is it too much to ask for nick to get the legal rights to the turtle video games so they can finally be re released?
some of the most popular gams on the system, not available. |

_______________________________________________ As with the NES Classic, the game selection is really underwhelming, they're games some people have a way to access, either by Virtual Console or previous collections. The only big takeaway is Star Fox 2 finally being released. |

Although I can understand a licensed game published by a 3rd party company is probably one of the most difficult arrangements to work out for a "budget" novelty item. I'm still surprised Capcom was able to re-release their 8-bit Disney Afternoon collection. |
Where the heck is Turtles In Time? Its not just thr most praised Ninja Turtles game, but an often cited favorite among gamers. Is it a copyright problem? I would have bought it for that and Super Mario World alone, but now no sell.
