I’m glad they managed to get the 4 original turtles to do the voices and they sound amazingly still the same too. Pity they couldn’t get the original April and Splinter VA tho.
Btw my main is April, she’s the fastest with that lethal flying chain combo Chun-Li kick. She’s even better than the turtles lmao :tlol:Playing this on the hardest difficulty is so satisfying and rewarding. |

I played with all characters long enough already that i think my favorite is also April. I think it's her speed, i love rampaging through the chaotic, foot-soldier filled levels, juggling and bouncing them off the wall doing 80+ combos at a near continuous rate x'D i get into like a trance state, haha. Yeah, there is something satisfying about the gameplay, which is something that makes or break a "beat 'em up" game for me, i don't know what it is exactly, but some elements set apart what can be a dull, monotonous or repetitive beat 'em up game from a game that keeps you hooked with a sense of gratification. This game does that for me. Not many others do, at least not at that level ("Guardians: Denjin Makai II", "Cadillacs and Dinosaurs", off the top of my head.) |

Speaking of which, I wonder what a Tribute and DotEmu made Simpsons beat 'em up would be like... |
Quote:
If they put at least half the effort and care as they did on this, please, if you're listening Tribute Games/DotEmu, shut up and take my money:tlol: i'll buy them, i will buy all of them, i am exactly your target audience. Just keep making good games and mantain quality standards, and quality control, and i will be a happy camper. BTW Thank you for adding me, OldManWinters, let's have fun! :tlol: (I tried to get you "Capcom Beat 'em Up Bundle" so that we can play together, aswell as "Mastema: Out of Hell" & "Black Jewel" as a present. Steam won't let people from Argentina gift games to people in the United States ;w; booooooo!) |
Would it be weird if they introduced a "versus" mode? Where 2-6 players smack each other around a limited but expanding/retracting area until only 1 is standing?

The mods are surfacing:

I'm actually surprised how close the voices outside the Turtles and Bebop/Rocksteady sound to their original voices.
Baxter, Krang and Shredder sound nearly identical to their voices in the show. Same for Leatherhead and Groundchuck. I think Rat King is still voiced by Townsend Coleman. |

Side note - just beat my third go around with the story as Donatello! Now onto Michelangelo. |
Yeah, that Slash mod is wicked. (I especially love the attention to detail in swapping his plain old shaolin swords with his toy weapons.) I'd legit pay for a DLC toggle for a cooler Slash. :tlol:
|
I actually really like that they made the Fred Wolf design for Slash look cool for the first time, he looks better than the show despite the same outfit. I also like that we have it in a game for the first time so I'm fine with it.
I guess Granitor is the only boss from the old games who appeared in the show who didn't return in this game, even though we have gray rock soldiers. They couldn't use Tatsu since he never appeared in the cartoon despite being in Hyperstone Heist. |
They also didn't include Cement Man neither.

GOING live on twitch now
join me ad lets see if we can beat hard more on arcade https://www.twitch.tv/kingmikedas |
That's why I said if they do DLC levels, there's not really many characters they could add for bosses unless we get Lord Dregg or something. Granitor is the only older character really missing and he's not that important.
For playable characters the Punk Frogs feel like they're going to be added at some point as they have their weapons in their profiles. I could see Mondo Gecko, Lotus Blossom, etc. being added too. Usagi is a bit of a pipe dreams as the developers already said he'd be difficult to get in. |

He was one of the playable characters i was hoping for to be added the most, i discussed this in a few youtube comment sections: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyfK...xf19c40DvNu4o6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi6E...tv-9cJxmfQSfg8 Do you have the quote or source from where they said it?I am just curious about their personal statement now :tcry: Quote:
Edit: I was wondering about April's "R.Mika" attack XD someone edited it back in!I had no idea it was removed or if i just didn't meet the right circumstances to perform the move or what. I recognize the modder's nickname from the OpenBOR community...here's hoping for more overlap :D |
Yeah, this game kicks MAJOR shell.
The detail on the Cony Island level is so Konami-esque. it's SUPER good. This game deserves all the hype it's getting. |
I love this game. I made my wife rage quit because i kept doing Michelangelos power up dance over and over while she was getting her ass kicked. I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.

If they make a DLC or sequel, here's some characters I can see being used next time. For bosses:
- Granitor - Lord Dregg - Lotus Blossom (starts as a villain) - Antrax - Scumbug Maybe even Mutagen Man and Muckman. Mondo Gecko should be playable. Lotus after beating her as a boss should become playable. |
They just added a couple of more mods, Like the monkeys throwing poop, Replacing all the music with the ones on the NES and SNES games.

Sprite sheets are up!

How does this compare to Streets of Rage 4? I went through several hours of that last year and it might be the best beat em up I've played, full stop.
If this has the same developer, I'm very interested, despite the fact that I have more nostalgia for the 2003 era Konami Game Boy titles. |

Had to share someone's fan creation of Karai, Hun and the Dragon Lord in Shredder's Revenge style.

Amazing game, better than SOR4.
Visuals are astounding and the best presentation of OG cartoon in the video games. Gameplay is fun and dynamic, which puts it for me higher than SOR4 and on par Rive City Girls. Music is good with some tracks being amazing. |
I'd love to see an IDW expansion with Alopex as one of the characters... but the cynical part of me knows full well the only potential character that'll come out of IDW is ****ing Jennika.

I don't think we'll see anyone outside of original cartoon characters in this even in DLC. There's a reason why everyone has their original cartoon design including Slash and Wingnut, whereas the older games used the Archie designs for them.
If we get new bosses it'll probably be Granitor, Lord Dregg, Scumbug, Antrax, etc. rather than anyone from any other series. Playable characters should definitely include the likes of Mondo Gecko, the Frogs, Lotus Blossom, etc. |
