There's no reason you have to pay again, you just click the version you originally bought. The PS4 version is compatible on PS5.

I'm really surprised they didn't add any new modes. Boss Rush, a Time trial similar to Turtles in Time with short segments of each level, any type of Vs. mode just fighting another human character in 1 on 1.

I didn't see anything particularly interesting other than balance updates. I was hoping for hidden stages or Lotus Blossom or something.

RaphaelinSTL 12-26-2022 10:58 PM

Honestly, this was more like a small, fun free update that just added a little bonus setting and some little adjustments.

I keep thinking they’ll probably do DLC now given how successful the game has been.

CyberCubed 12-27-2022 03:52 PM

The only DLC I'd be interested in is new levels, like say 5 new stages with 5 new bosses, but I doubt that will happen.

Most likely the DLC will just be something lame like making the Punk Frogs playable since they already made their character models, so I doubt I'll care about something like that.

I haven't even received my Limited Run Games copy of this yet. I haven't played a video game in a few years now and yet, ironically I'm waiting on three games from Limited Run - their Blade Runner release, this TMNT game and when I ordered that I impulse bought their Contra collection.

At this point I don't know that I'll ever play any of them.

Still? Yuck. Sorry to hear that. I ended up double dipping and grabbing a physical copy from Amazon just to have.

I ordered that lost FMV game American Hero from them over the summer and it finally showed up towards the end of last month or so. Truthfully outside of grabbing Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, I really hope I never have to order anything from them again.

I got on board with Limited Run Games from the get-go with Saturday Morning RPG and I stuck with every single Playstation 4 release they did for a couple of years actually.

And then it became a regular bill - the releases weren't so special and they basically turned into a subscription publishing company. I sold I think 95% of my LRG collection after cutting off somewhere around Firewatch....

I honestly don't know how much play time I'll actually get out of any of those three games though. They were a great company but they "rose to the occasion" of consumer demand by far surpassing "rising to the occasion" and went all "Cash grab publisher".

LRG products I bought through their site:
Sega Genesis Mega Man Wily Wars (amazing)
Switch Double Dragon/Kunio Kun Brawler Bundle standard (okay)
Game Boy Avenging Spirit (very cool)
Sega Genesis Valis Collection (still preorder… looks cool in pics)
SwitchRiver City Girls 2 standard (still preorder, wanted physical to commemorate Marian as a playable brawler)
Switch NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection v2 standard (still preorder, just wanted it in physical copy due to Mega Man games)

Want to see:
Samurai Pizza Cats for NES
New Ghostbusters 2 for Nes
Back to the Future for Snes
Star Fox 2 for Snes
Wrecking Crew ‘98 for Snes
Snatcher for Sega Cd
Knuckles Chaotix for 32X

I'm glad they capped the taunt charging at 1/3 bars. That was way too easy/tempting to exploit

Could easily be an entire thread dedicated exclusively to Limited Run Games. Some of the titles they've released are artsy and amazing....

Arcade beat 'em up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is now available on mobile exclusively for Netflix subscribers. https://www.ign.com/articles/tmnt-sh...flix-exclusive

It plays very well on my iPhone and it’s free. Cool. :tcool:

When thinking of villains that could show up in a sequel, who do you think would appear in Shredder's Revenge 2?

I'm sure it's probably a given that Shredder, Krang and Rocksteady/Bebop would return in some fashion ... but for bringing in other characters, for me, it'd have to be ...

* Lord Dregg (maybe the main baddie?)
* Smash and the Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang (would love for them to have their own level like the Triceraton)
* Scumbug
* Antrax
* Mutagen Man
* Dirk Savage
* Scrag
* Brainwashed Rex-1 and the Shredder Rex-1 army
* Granitor
* Super Bebop and Mighty Rocksteady (they could appear later on after you beat Bebop and Rocksteady)
* Pinky Mcfingers (or some other notable mob name from the show)
* Drakus

Coola Yagami 01-16-2023 08:49 PM

I'd probably do it like the later Megaman games where it looks like Lord Dregg is the big bad this time around, but once you get to the later levels, Shredder comes in and takes over as the final boss.

I doubt there will be a sequel, they didn't even announce DLC. It seems like the developers are interested in moving on to other cartoons. The 90's X-men is being heavily rumored to be a possible game for them especially with a new season of the series coming out this year.

Would also love to see them make a new Simpsons beat 'em up as a sequel to the classic 90's Simpsons arcade game.

DLC for SOR4 wasn't even announced until a year after it came out, so it isn't unlikely for Dotemu to be holding off until a months later this year.

I'm of the mind we'll see something, but if not — the game itself is still such a treat that has warranted so many revisits for me.

As far as X-Men goes though, I have yet to see that. Is that in reference to Dotemu or Tribute Games? Honestly, the original X-Men arcade game deserves another chance to be ported over to current systems again. Another X-Men beat em up is something I'm 100% down for though.

Sabacooza 01-17-2023 11:13 PM

Maybe it's just me but I prefer they skip the dlc and save it for the sequel.

I'd love to see that. At the very least that deserved a sequel back in the day.

RaphaelinSTL 03-16-2023 07:58 AM

We have officially arrived at copycat season. Toxic Crusaders cartoon is getting a super similar Shredder's Revenge treatment, albeit not as smooth, fast or with as good pixel animation.

The timing of this makes sense. There's a new Toxic Avenger reboot directed by Macon Blair and co-produced by Legendary Pictures that sounds like it has good people involved.

IMJ 03-16-2023 11:47 AM

Still haven't opened my LRG TMNT or Contra games.
At this point I'm probably so far behind on the online-playing-curve that it isn't worth it. I'm a (or used to be) trophy hunter and I'm sure plenty of them are online.

Might as well just keep those games sealed so I have something to sell when I'm 60 lmao
