Yeah, looks like they were able to get the same actors to record their respective characters.

A little more dev info from the official Shredder's Revenge Discord:

They should voice Bebop/Rocksteady I don't see why not.

Looks fantastic! Can’t wait.

Any guesses?

Character stats (3 star system):
https://twitter.com/ayoblackout/stat...UPCFio_nmEWcpQ

I'm guessing Leo is a 2/2/2 balanced character with April being the speedball featherweight at 2/3/1. Kinda surprised there is not a stat for HP defense.

Why do they always have to give Michelangelo such goofy expressions? He’s not Stimpy, for crying out loud.

Totally agree. I passed my Neca movie Mikey onto my nephew. Now I have an incomplete set of 3 turtles lol. I love Mikey in the first movie, but the facial expression was too distracting.

Hey at least they didn't give Donny glasses this time.

Game to feature 20 bosses:
https://noisypixel.net/tmnt-shredder...rederic-gemus/

CyberCubed 04-22-2022 04:59 PM

I assume that means mini-bosses or mid-stage bosses, similar to the Foot/Mouser battles in TMNT III or Slash being in Bebop's stage in TMNT III. Obviously there won't be 20 levels.

Why not?

Also, isn't this the first time the original four have voiced the turtles since the 90's? This is a big deal! :D

They voiced the classic turtles again in the crossover with the Nick 2012 show and in a 2018 Honda commercial.

I don't see why not? Considering how short the levels seem to be, I feel that even with 20 levels the game could go by pretty quickly.

CyberCubed 04-23-2022 11:55 AM

20 levels feels like way too much, I think it'll have 12-15 at most. A lot of stages will probably have mini-bosses, as I mentioned above the original games did this a lot too.

The interview above says we'll see characters never in the games before like Tempestra, and I assume only characters who actually appeared in episodes are valid so no toy-only characters or Archie comics characters most likely. If I had to guess at some original cartoon characters never in a game before:

- Chrome Dome has only been in Tournament Fighters but never in the classic beat 'em ups, so he's possible.

- Scumbug or Antrax are possible

- Wingnut as a boss is possible, the one in Tournament Fighters was based on the Archie version, but about the original cartoon version of Wingnut/Screwloose where he's a brown bat?

The Deadman 04-23-2022 12:52 PM

20 levels would be possible if they were "worlds" with the levels attached akin to a Mario game.

sdp 04-23-2022 12:55 PM

Slash should have his goofy 87 design. I hope they don't chicken out in using it.

MattOnWheels 04-23-2022 06:33 PM

Wasn't there a panel today for the game?

Chaotix12345 04-24-2022 02:45 AM

Pretty sure that was just a Discord panel and had nothing to do with the game. I believe Discord mentioned that they'd have the game playable at their booth, but I think the panel was unrelated. (If they truly DID have such a panel, the DotEmu/Tribute guys would probably be hyping it up big, anyway, and I've not seen any of that on Twitter, Discord or the like.)

Andrew NDB 04-24-2022 02:52 AM

It'd be interesting if there is alternate skins for the game. Somewhat recent TMNT games have had the all-red banna skins there... this might, too. It'd be fairly cost effective to do.

Leo656 04-24-2022 03:44 AM

I mean, it'd look a bit weird on this version of the Turtles but I don't see why they "couldn't" do it.

I kinda doubt they'd think of it, though, since only you and mczaps would care enough to make a federal case out of it. "We gotta whip up some red mask skins for these two guys on this one forum, otherwise they swear they won't play it." "Seriously?" "Yeah, literally those two guys." "((siiiiiigh)) FINE." ((presses a button, now they all have red masks))

Probably wouldn't cost them anything in time nor money. But I can see them refusing simply out of pure spite. :trazz:

Oh, I don't care either way really. It'd be a fun thing in what is supposed to be a fun thing. Obviously imagining the actual Mirage TMNT in something like this wouldn't make any sense. But it might make a 2nd playthrough worth it for kicks. Or something.

Leo656 04-24-2022 05:06 AM

I agree, nowadays when it makes sense for a character I love and prefer that they have multiple skins. Like, why NOT do that? Someone will appreciate it.

I generally only use the same one or two Batman skins in any Arkham game but I'd be annoyed as hell if they weren't in there. I remember when Arkham Asylum came out, I was like "Even the Batman Begins game had some alternate skins, this is weak." Thankfully, they more than made up for it in the later games.

With sprite based games, it would be “palette swaps” rather than skins.

CyberCubed 04-24-2022 11:23 AM

20 bosses sounds really good, but why haven't they confirmed the number of stages yet? We know it's over 10 at least (stage 10 boss is Metalhead so obviously that's not the last level), so I hope between 12-15 stages at the least.

I also like the developers said they want people to play through the game multiple times with each Turtle and Splinter/April because they all play differently. it sounds like they designed this with a lot of replay value in mind, so even if the game only takes like 30 minutes or so to beat the first time around, you're going to want to go through it a few more times. Online play and local play is nice too for 2-4 players at once.

AquaParade 04-24-2022 01:02 PM

I’m already hoping this team is considering doing a Simpsons or X-Men project next. Not that it’s up to them.

Regarding red masks, I love Mirage but don’t see it really fitting here. I’d probably use them if they are in there though. Didn’t TiT on SNES have an alternate “comic book” look, that gave the turtles darker skin or something?

The 16 bit games featured “anime” and “comic” color palettes, which were basically either consistent bright green skin or the toyline skin tones.

One of the team devs said the two IPs they could never refuse are TMNT and Mega Man, FYI

AquaParade 04-24-2022 02:52 PM

Thanks.

Mega Man - that's interesting. Really wish Capcom did more with that franchise.

I'm surprised to hear there's people that like that design. I'd personally prefer a more Archie-inspired design, especially since that's what they did with Turtles in Time. I guess the argument could be made that this game is trying to be more faithful to the 87 cartoon, though already the turtles themselves aren't screen-accurate since they've been made buffer and with colors closer to the "style guide" colors.

A big Mega Man cartoon around 1995, toy lines, a movie. They really missed the boat on that. Could have been huge.

Castlevania, too. Instead, today we get an adult Netflix show with Alucard banging dudes.

Xav 04-25-2022 03:46 AM

There was a Mega Man cartoon and toy lines in 1994 and 1995.

Did you ever get to see the promo pilot for the 1994 cartoon?

A detailed breakdown of a playthrough experience at PAX East:
https://www.theworkprint.com/pax-eas...rs-revenge/123

Quote:

Highlights of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Demo:

A playful level design filled with easter eggs and cameos scattered throughout the game.

Modernized gameplay with dash and backflip to close in or escape.

Double Jump and Charged Attacks! Also, in general, a LOT of new combinations.

A special mechanic that unleashes devastatingly wide area attacks. Donatello’s for instance sucks enemies toward him.

Tag-team co-op moves with your partners that all depend on the positioning. Players can air-juggle, sandwich, and grapple enemies. They can also, toss, knockdown, and joint attack depending on where the player is in relation to their partner while facing an enemy.

You can taunt to recharge your special! You can also high-five your ally!

In multiplayer, you get 10 seconds to revive a KO’d ally.

Special pizzas allow you to use infinite specials for infinite spins.

Chaotic 4-Player fun, much of this game is focused on crowd control. As it’s easy to be surrounded now. So much more mobility-focused than in the old game.

Turtles have some subtleties in their stance and moves. Leo can toss footsoldiers. Raphael suplex. Splinter, when standing still, hand gestures to enemies, “come at me, bro.”

There will be in-game achievements and extra-level challenges. 3 per level.
Drop-in and drop-out capabilities for online multiplayer and multiplayer co-op where 2 people can play in the same house with other people.

A balanced combat system where everyone can pull their own weight regardless of skill.

Will be both an arcade mode, but also, a story mode.

Sounds like it should be a lot of fun.

AquaParade 04-26-2022 10:30 AM

Great roundup of info. Looks like they really did innovate in comparison to the old beat-em-ups.

Sumac 04-26-2022 12:35 PM

Not that it would have been a hard work, considering that OG TiT wasn't all that complex.

Andrew NDB 04-26-2022 12:41 PM

Yeah. I mean, are they adding a few new things to what we could consider the "standard Konami side-scrolling beat-em-up"? Sure, and we all kind of figured that. But let's not pretend, "WOW! What a revolutionary game! Completely redefines the beat-em-up side-scroller and brings it into 2022!"
