Complete Series DVD coming in December

https://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutan...=1YVGST030BGQ4

Coming on December 6th, the complete 2012 show is getting a DVD set. Judging by the lack of Blu-ray, low price and chunky case, I'm guessing this is a repack of the existing individual Volume discs. Great price, though. Haven't picked up many of the previous releases, so this is definitely going on my radar.

CyberCubed 09-20-2022 05:29 AM

Yeah seems like just a repackage of everything. If the show ever gets a blu-ray set I'd buy it. It looks good in HD.

Cool, Wish it was in blu-ray, I have the complete set of the 87 series, I recently setup my own plex server and ripped all the discs of the 87 series, It would be nice if I had this set so that I can put on my server too.

I have something similar set up via WD MyCloud media servers. Until this comes out on Blu-Ray, I'm set with that.

Like many have said. If this was Blu Ray id be all over this. There is no reason this couldn't get a blu ray release:x

oldmanwinters 09-20-2022 12:21 PM

I'm always glad to see shows get "complete series" physical releases, even if it's less than ideal.

I have the DVD of Wanted Bebop and Rocksteady that has two episodes on it, When I ripped that for my plex server, I had to name the files in order for Plex to display the proper information, and it shows them as Season 5 episodes.

Seems like a huge missed opportunity too - we are at the tenth anniversary of this show's first season. Sort of ridiculous of the I.P. holders not to pimp a Blu-Ray release through a celebration of "Ten Years of Nicktoon TMNT!", doesn't it?

I'm a big fan of AudioShell for editing metadata. Once installed it's a simple right click action.

In glorious 480p! They might as well do a VHS release. I get that old people still cling to their DVD players and that's a thing... but this isn't for old people.

But I love how Plex fills in all the information for you, As long as you name the files properly.

I'll prolly snag it. I just replaced all my single OT DVD's with the $25 complete set in one case. So nice to reduce all that bulk. I don't really care about the quality all that much, I just want to own it all in some form.

Leo656 09-20-2022 02:46 PM

I didn't really like the show but I did buy a few of those 3 or 4-episode discs because I'm that kind of sucker, and if I have some spare cash I might end up picking this one up for the sake of completion. Figure I own Next Mutation, f*ck it.

Aaronardo 09-20-2022 03:02 PM

Holy sh*t, finally. I've had the Season 1 volumes chilling on my shelf on their own for years now.

TigerClaw 09-20-2022 03:32 PM

Now if they only had a box set of the 2003 series, So far you can get all of the Fast Forward which is 26 episodes on two DVD sets, Unfortunately, You can only get them as used.

IndigoErth 09-20-2022 03:34 PM

Wow, I really didn't think it was ever actually going to get a complete set, thought the days of that might be past with streaming taking over. Might have to pick that up eventually.
Spoiler:
Now would be a prime time for them to also do one for 2003 since I finally just gave up and started buying old individual DVDs on eBay.

Leo656 09-20-2022 03:39 PM

You put odd things in Spoilers that generally don't require Spoilers.

Spoiler:
I once banged a chick so hard her freckles fell off. :tgrin:

Hahaaaaaaaaaa, Got 'Em. :trazz:

Doubt it will happen as Viacom/Nick treats the 2003 series as the bastard stepchild of the franchise. Why I have no idea the first 4 seasons were excellent.

Technically it's an off topic comment since it wasn't about this show, but spoilered it in an ineffective attempt to not be the person who drives it off topic.

Yeah, and being new to even bothering to look for copies it's a little confusing that, far as I can gather, BttS came out elsewhere but not here? An American show doesn't put them all on DVD here? For that alone they owe us a compete set, dammit.

I need my show sets lined up... and most are missing so far. Hell I'll even be nice and still wish the lovers of Rise can get all of that one, too, and even the movie, but that's another that prob won't happen. Esp if they're going back to try to squeeze some cash out of 2012.

That'd be why. It outshines their own, far lesser material.

Kinda like how even after McMahon bought WCW outright, and could have easily chose to shine it up and make money off it, he only ever did so begrudgingly and the official WWE narrative was, and remains to this day, "WCW always sucked, tho." Like, it makes no tangible sense for them to continue to push that narrative considering they own the property and it only even exists in name form for them to exploit for profit... but they only ever celebrate it in a very backhanded manner, even still.

Business is petty, the entertainment business is worse. Nick doesn't want to promote 4Kids because it would make them look slightly bad since they've never done anything close to as good. They don't want to compete with themselves. It's nonsense, but that's how these things work.

You think the five people who still come around here give a sh*t?

If you're selling cookies, Girl Scout, I'll take two boxes of Thin Mints. :trazz:

Well someone's gotta try to patch up what's left of any respectability in this place. :P
