How do you sleep at night?
Curiosity question.
|
I sleep on my right side, without a pillow. Use my bicep as a pillow, become used to it so much now that using a pillow now makes me uncomfortable.
|
I sleep on all sides, back, and alternate. I don't really have a fan.
|
I don't. Sleep is for wimps. Jk, I'm a chronic insomniac, and mostly toss and turn in every possible position. Unless I take something like a sleep aid, and am utterly exhausted. Then I completely pass out and am dead to the world.

Side with the AC on. My back is shot so I also need a blanket or pillow between my legs to relax the pressure. Also if I don't keep my knees bent the right one locks up.
Don't wrestle, it's bad for you. |
I'm all over. Predominantly a side sleeper and start out that way, but also a part-time back and stomach sleeper. TV with sleep timer set, no fan unless it's hot.
|
Fall asleep on my right side. Something about laying on the left side tweaks something that isn't exactly painful, but isn't comfortable. Will sometimes wake up on the left. I have one of those knee pillows if stuff is really hurting, but I haven't needed it in awhile.
Never understood the fan thing. |

I sleep on the left side. Or at least, ideally I try to. Sleeping on your left side is supposed to be much better for your guts, specifically stomach acid and such. But typically there is someone there snoring loudly or rolling about... so I am left with the right side. |
All positions but not on stomach.
In the dark. Low light is ok but I prefer dark. No fan. There’s AC but I like being warm so covered with no air directed at me. No noise. Turn off tv before falling asleep. |
My wife needs the fan to sleep because it drowns out the ringing in her ears from her Tinnitus. I've gotten used to it. The AC I need because I just plain can't sleep when it's too hot.
I sleep on either side, but predominantly my right side because I have some hearing loss in my left ear so if I sleep on my right side I hear less background noise that way. |
I prefer on my stomach. I use to be unable to sleep on my back but when ever my back starts hurting as I've gotten used to it. Sleeping on my sides depends on how I'm feeling.
But I mostly sleep on my stomach with the windows open. I only use a fan when it gets really hot at night since opening the window gets me to hear random young people chatting loudly or cats fighting. Also not a good idea when the occasional late night parties occur. |
No need for a fan, the ac vent blows right over my side of the bed. I tend to lie on my side or stomach, when I can actually get comfortable enough to "sleep". Usually either on top of the covers if I'm having hot flashes, or with one leg on top, and the rest of me under them, to keep from getting too warm. Unless it's really cold, then I snuggle next to Mr. D, lol.

Now that's a strange survey I actually particpated in. Don't ask why, I just did and I liked it :tlol:
|
I toss and turn like a crazy person, but almost never am I on my back.
|
With all the terrible things I've done I'm not sure how I sleep....oh....wait...
In all seriousness I have sleep apnea so I get to try and side sleep with a hose sticking out of my face. After awhile my hip will start to hurt from sleeping on it so I flop to the other side...try the back some times, but never find it comfortable. We have a fan at the foot of the bed for cooling but mostly white noise, though lately I've been using ear plugs to block out people who wake up too early now that they are home from school. |
All the old folks with their pains...
My only real issue is I tend to sleep hot. It's hard to go to sleep if it's too cool and my feet are cold, but then at some point I get warmed up and too hot under the covers and sometimes wake up sweating to death... :ohwell: Quote:

Thinking about the position I sleep in I could do with changing it, but I have spent so many years sleeping how I do. |

Can be a problem in couples when one person needs noise and the other does not, in the case where the background noise is something like music (and not the soothing kind) or pod casts rather than the gentle noise of a fan.

The Tiger Knee position.
