The greatest Raphael scenes from all versions of the character

Ah yes, Raphael, the big bruiser with the even bigger heart. Volatile, intense and relentless, bitterly sarcastic but also the most loyal friend and most understanding ear. Let's talk about his greatest hits: the most violent, funniest and most sarcastic scenes of all versions of the TMNT. Starting of course with the Mirage comics. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/tm...20080206091451 I doubt that there's anybody who's going to argue with me on the fact that the "Me, Myself and I" story must be the greatest all round Raph centered story line. It just has it all. - Raph being hotheaded, injuring Mikey during a sparring session. - Raph being shocked by his own behavior - Raph meeting Casey Jones and recognizing a kindred spirit in him The next example I was going to name, I KNOW I own the comic of but I couldn't find it right now. But it's that HILARIOUS comic in which Raph and Casey raid a gang who are trafficking illegal weapons and Casey steals a bullet absorbing suit of armor. The gang members start pelting Casey with so much ammo that the sheer weight actually makes the building collapse. In the aftermath Casey and Raph are sarcastically commenting on the other's performance during that battle. It was by far the funniest Raph centered story of Mirage. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/3d/c5...8f5ad881cd.gif "I won't smash your head into the..." - Raph in "Turtle temper" The 2012 series had some glorious Raphael moments, too much to mention but here's some of my personal favorites. https://i.pinimg.com/474x/da/f1/e7/d...e-leo-tmnt.jpg That pause, it just had me laughing so much. https://i.pinimg.com/474x/23/6a/42/2...a29cbf770a.jpg I'd put down more of the other series but it's four at night here... :toops: |
Alright, I'm gonna post a few comic pages and see if any of them are liked:

A couple of moments stand out to me from the Fred Wolf series:
Enter the Fly: During the climatic showdown in the junkyard, when the precious gazai plant is literally thrown up for grabs, Raphael reacts with precision to save it with a flying leap. And he ends up making a miraculous behind-the-back catch that would impress Antonio Freeman... and he never even drops his sais! Without that catch, April would have died from poisoning. http://i.imgur.com/2rYlsOMl.jpg I'm proud to own a cel from the instant Raphael begins his charge, and one of the rare instances the show ever drew him holding the sais between his fingers: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallery...?piece=1641020 The Fifth Turtle: Though annoyed by the pesky interference of fan-boy Zach, Raphael charges into danger to rescue the kid from certain death by pendulum, while everybody else is too busy taking cover (Turtles) or filming it (April): http://i.imgur.com/bOaakb2l.jpg When I saw Raph's exploits on TV the first time, I thought "That's the kind of guy I want to be!" |

IDWs Raphael Micro was pretty damn good!
Vietch's The River 3-part story had some pretty good moments. His encounters with Lucindra were always fun too. |
Is it a greatest scene, probably not, but it's one of my fave OT Raph gifs I have saved. :P
Spoiler:
As for actual greatest scenes... Raph's interaction with the little boy, Yoshi, in TMNT 3 comes to mind. |

“ Clang? Did you say clang?” - Raphael (Turtle Tracks) |
Don't know if this one counts or not. Future Raph from the Archie Comics punching Hitler.

Not only is it odd seeing that word in an Archie Comic but was the dude also known for being a perv among everything else? |

-Bodycount, in which Raphael gets drunk & uses a machine gun.
-Vol. 3's arc where he takes ownership of The Foot Clan. -Rise on a whole, it portrays him as a big lug, a total bruiser yet loveable teddy bear, filled with determination. I loved what a refreshing change of pace it was for him, as I quickly tire of most other iterations & their one-noted angst. His motivational & heart string tugging speech in the finale was so good. -Mirage issues that show us his final years, as a relatively feral hunter type. We see that without his family to tether him to civility, his baser, rage-fueled impulses completely take over. It's sad, but interesting. -Many of his Fred Wolf one-liners are memorable, classic quips. "We're dealing with a real mind here." Rob Paulsen's delivery, man. -Josh Pais X Jim Henson, what a compelling Raphael we got in 1990's live action film. You can really feel for him, going through the throws of teenage life are hard enough, without having to feel like a "freak", be targeted by hordes of ninja, & your own worst enemy, all at once. |

Anyway, back on topic, the Archie comics once more when Raph has this dream where Acid rain is melting his skin off and he's actually enjoying it... https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8IZumz7ao...00/cyber02.jpg https://miragelicensing.com/comics/archie/62/1.jpg again, the Archie comics, his break up with Ninjara, it was probably the most grown up we ever saw Raphael act. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/tm...20200702014218 |
An episode of the 2003 series "Touch and Go", Raph sneaks in a random house and meets a blind woman named Mrs. Morrison. Raph helps her move some things and learns that she is being forced out of the house after her husband died. After Mike and Splinter escape with a bag full of money that Touch and Go stolen, as opposed to letting them keep it for themselves, Raph brought the whole thing over and told her that not only did someone left it on her doorstep but that she has a guardian angel that wants her to stay where she belongs. It really warms the heart.
