So how old were Casey, Hun and the Turtles?
 

So I noticed a continuity error.

When Hun burned down the Jones shop, he lacked scars, the Foot tattoo and dressed simpler, implying he was not in the service of the Foot yet or at least not as deep into it yet. He is also present when Shredder kills Yoshi looking more like he did in the series' regular time period, weird in itself as that's fifteen years later. Later we get an episode where the turtles as children meet Casey, who looks more or less how he did at the time the store burned down.

Even if the explaination is that someone screwed up and used the older Hun design when it should have been the younger Hun design at Yoshi's murder, or that it should have the older Hun design at the sabotage instead of the young one, it still won't make any sense that Casey is not a teenager at least five years later.

So who do I blame or is there a way around this?

I remember there was a lot of talk about this when "The Lesson" originally aired. It's apparently not linked in the talkback collection thread, but a lot of people had a problem with Casey's age in that episode. If I remember right it was ultimately chalked up to a continuity error.

Let's see... does this work?

1983: Hun threaten kid Casey
Hun = 20 years old
Casey = 5 years old

1988: Hamato Yoshi murdered
Hun = 25 years old
Turtles = newly borned

1993: Turtles met teen Casey
Casey = 15 years old
Turtles = 5 years old

2003: Turtles met adult Casey
Hun = 40 years old
Casey = 25 years old
Turtles = 15 years old

Seems about right. I don't think Hun is 40, though. He looks like he's in his late 30's.

Some Asian could look younger than they are.

Hun was asian?

He could be. "Hun" sounds like an Asian name. He probably dyed his hair blonde.

Hun was his nickname.

He had another name?

In IDW he did. In 4kids it was never explained. The unaired episode Nightmares Recycled was supposed to give him some backstory.

I could see Hun being 40, that works I think, he looked like a man in peak condition. I don't think he's of Asian descent however, the episode that was shelved that Snake is talking about was going to explain that he and Garbage Man were twins with the latter being discarded with the trash but it was judged to be too disturbing for kids. Garbage Man did not seem to be of Asian origin and could also pass for 40ish.

In Mirage it was Hunter Manson.

Hun didn't look 20 though. Maybe a big highschooler (16 or 18). Guys tend to stop growing around 20-22, he didn't look as tall as his 2003 height.

I don't think Casey was 15 when the Turtles met him though, I could be wrong. Coulda sworn he was 13.

The turtles are 15 at the start of the series, and 20 by the end.
Casey is 24 at the start, and 29 by the end.
Hun...I'm assuming in his late 20s to early 30s.

I always took his nickname hun derived from the huns..

I think in the german version of 2k3 the synchro even pronounced his name like that..(instead of calling him hun, they would pronounce it 'hou-ne(the ou sound as in the word whodini...)'...

later of course the mirage issue by tristan jones raised the possibillity that hun was just short of hunter...

Thanks! Although it's really nothing compared to the full continuity timeline in the other thread! There are some conflicts though, in that thread it was stated that Casey was born in 1979 (was this referenced in any ep?) and he first met Hun in 1987 (sceptical of that, as Hun couldn't have transformed that much in the following year when Yoshi was killed). The rest matches quite well.
