Scottie Young style doodles
 

Just started doodling out some Turtle pics. Been quite influenced by Scottie Young's Marvel covers lately so did these:

Sorry for naff webcam pics but I'll maybe scan these properly and digitally work on them later. Only quick doodles atm.

Pencil and ballpoint pens is a strangely productive medium for me (All hat doodling during lectures in my uni days)

Cute!!! I've been saying forever that they need to get someone on cute spunky covers like this for the IDW series. I'd love variants like these!!!

Nice work. The poses are really dynamic.

I don't draw as much as I used to, but I've always been a fan of using ballpoint too.

Thanks for the positive comments all. I picked the new movie turtles because I like my super deluxe figures and there's a lot more to the designs. OT would all be a bit samey in this style. Want to do some NICK TMNT stuff at some point tho.

Today's doodle and I'm not 100% happy with it. The left foot needed twisting away but I couldn't put my finger on the problem until I went over it in pen. D'oh!

My Daughter also says it doesn't look like the others because there is not enough mouth so might do another Leo later with a more open pose.

Thanks. Poses are something I really struggle with (see Leo above) and I love it when they come out well. Wish I could draw great comic book art but after years of getting annoyed with my limitations I'm going full cartoony.

I think your drawings in this style would make absolutely killer tattoos, btw. :tcool:

Glad everyone likes these so far. Open to so suggestions for the next character. Will consider anything not just 2014 stuff.
