WB MultiVersus
It's all just rumors at this point, but everybody knows it would be foolish to pass up an opportunity to profit off Ultra-Instinct Shaggy's appeal:

Rumor: Warner Working On A Smash Bros. Imitator With Batman, Gandalf And, Er, Shaggy
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...-and-er-shaggy
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has had its final hurrah, and will now gracefully ride off into a sunset of acclaim, arguments about Sora and competitive tournaments. Nintendo's platform fighter (for that's the genre name) leads the way in that particular kingdom, but it has had to face down some challengers. Recently we had Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl which put a big emphasis on SpongeBob to lure in players; early indicators are that it's not been a smash (really? Ed.) hit as the publisher would have hoped. Still, there's often talk of other IP-owning powerhouses hoping to find the magic formula and challenge Nintendo's franchise. The latest rumour suggests it's Warner Bros. actively working on a platform fighter, at least according to this Reddit post. This has been backed up by the now familiar industry chatter Jeff Grubb, though there's disagreement on who's developing the game. Not exactly concrete rumours then, but it certainly feels feasible. Perhaps the most intriguing detail, considering the sorts of trailers and screenshots it'd produce, is the potential cast. Warner Bros. obviously has a daunting stable of IPs under its wing, but even so some of the potential showdowns would be rather funny. Shaggy (Scooby Doo) Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) Tom & Jerry Batman Fred Flintstone Mad Max Johnny Bravo In a fight between Mad Max and Shaggy there's really only one winner, but Batman vs Gandalf would be a battle for the ages. |
Man 2022 is gonna be the year of Smash clones, isnt it.
|
As history had proven anytime someone try to clone Smash they end up with a mediocre to horrible game (Mutant Melee, Smash Up, Battle Tryst, PlayStation All-Stars Something, Nickelodeon Something), so I won't put my hopes up for it being good.

People have said the Nick game is actually good.

So, a better version of Punch Out Explosion?

I love it |
My boyz from the 40s, Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry are in. I'm expecting T&J to abuse each other as attack moves. Powerpuff Girls are likely to be in it. Hope Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Courage, and Kids Next Door get in and let's hope there's actual voice acting unlike the Nickelodeon All Stars game.

When it releases we will all post our Steam names here so we can add each other and play online. I will fight and beat all of you!
|
When it comes out I'll be on console, sadly.

Video reveal for WBGames' "MultiVersus" lolz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAlpLUGVwBY I love the art styles, but... this probably isn't gonna be my thing. Kinda amazing that it took all these years for everybody to start churning out Smash Bros. clones like they did with Street Fighter 2 derivatives in the mid-1990s. |

We got two threads for this project in the General Video Games thread... take your pick!

At least they hire voice actors here unlike Nick’s All Star Brawl.

Took me til to today to learn that “Tom and Jerry kids” is about the children of Tom and Jerry and not the “baby version” like there was. I knew of spike and tyke, but just assumed it was just inconsistency of Flintstone Kids

Yeah I also saw them as the "kid" versions not the offspring of the original tom and jerry. I mean who is the mom? mammy two shoes?
https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img...x/517488_1.jpg I don't think tom and jerry fighting as kids would cause any real issue in canon, unless, I'm pretty sure most of the shorts break canon between each other but I haven't really watched tom and jerry since I was like 7. The other "kids" shows didn't break canon too much either, I guess the flintstones did unless you say they forgot about those events since they were so young. Felix the cat as a kid? I doubt that breaks canon, scooby? not really since scooby goes hollywood is not canon and that's the only contradiction. They get a lot of hate but as a kid I loved the babyfication of those old cartoons. Tiny Toons was a fav of mine as well. |
It explains the fact that Tyke is much older in “Kids” then he was in the original shorts.
