Marko Dješka: Re-designs & Tournaments
 

Some of my favorite TMNT fan art over the past couple of years has come from Marko Dješka's social media account: @markocomix

Last year, he did a fun event called "Technodrome Battle Tournamnet" in which he pitted his re-designs of various supporting characters from the Turtle-verse against each other in an elimination tournament in which anyone could vote for the winners each day. Out of the 24 characters, Ninjara came out the winner. Marko even bookended the event with incredible mini-comics to provide the intro and epilogues. You can see all the results of how polls played out here.

Today, he kicks off the 2nd tournament, which opens with the premise that Ninjara has been taking advantage of Krang's hospitality as champion, which motivates him to force her to defend her title against the winner of a 12-character elimination bracket. Votes will occur each day via Marko's Instagram "Stories" (mobile device required for poll voting, I think).

Marko's Technodrome Battle Tournament has reached the Final Four round featuring Null vs. Guerilla Gorilla and Alopex vs. Hot Head. The tournament winner will challenge defending champion Ninjara one-on-one, and she's already feeling the heat of being a pawn in Krang's blood sport!

With a surprisingly convincing 62% of the vote, Alopex displaces Ninjara as reigning champion of the Technodrome Battle Tournament, even though Krang isn't too excited about it!

I pointed out to Marko that he misspelled Alopex's name in several polls, so I was quite amused when he worked that into the story's canon ending!
