NECA 1987 2-Pack Collection at Target

Well, the rumors were spreading last month that the 1987 figures from NECA that were released as SDCC exclusives back in 2017 would be making their way to Target.

Not sure how this photo got out there but looks like the rumors may be true after all.

Exciting stuff!

Awesome, now I can finally get those figures without selling my kidneys

Interesting find. Two questions: 1. Is this the replacement for the never released Cowabunga Classics Shredder and Krang? 2. What is Target's asking price?

According to the article ...

The sets will include Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael, as well as Krang, Foot Soldiers and Shredder and would be priced at $51.99 for each 2-Pack.

Apparently, it's the lead singer of Coheed and Cambria's son. NECA is located outside of Jersey and so is the band. Whoops!

Randy's response. lolololol

In all fairness it was cropped and blown up.

So they're actually out in the wild already?

Oh boy. Maybe we should go check our local stores.

Also: I love how Claudio (I think that's his name) refers to it as his sons "first ninja turtle". Endearing.
Almost puts me at peace to the fact that the franchise became such a toddler-fest.

The size of the hand wasn't a hint?

Looks like they were gifted those early. Hopefully it means they’ll be in stores soon.

What a treat. I’m buying more action figures this year than I have since I was 12, primarily due to Neca. I just have to buy these turtle figures they’re releasing.

Also, I ran into some awesome Medicom/Mafex figures in Japan and now I’m sort of hooked. I bought two different Heath Ledger Jokers which are such a treat, for me. Also got a Batman From “Begins”.

In all seriousness, my wife has tiny hands, so I kinda can see how someone could make that error at a glance.

I mean, comment was f*cked up anyways, but I can see how he got there.

Anyways, wow, neat! I go to Target all the time on my way home from work, hopefully I can snag me some'a this stuff! Their NECA aisle is generally dormant, because in that area of NJ, nobody is going to Target for $50 action figures of Godzilla and Ninja Turtles. I generally have my pick of whatever I want, when I have the cash, so hopefully they'll get these, and hopefully people will continue to completely ignore that aisle so I can clean up.

Has there been any more word on release dates for these at all? I checked a couple stores and no one really had any idea when I asked about them.

$ 51.99 for a Michelangelo and Foot Soldier two pack with packaging like that?! Nickelodeon Retro Collection Michelangelo and Foot Soldier stock photos instead of stills from the classic syndicated Fred Wolf cartoon?!

Give me the Super 7 Masters of the Universe Epic Battles He-Man and Skeletor two pack any day over these Target exclusives.

Dragnskull 02-03-2019 03:20 AM

gotta admit at a price point like that i was expecting higher quality packaging, and even then 51 dollars is a pretty high price...shocked these arent 29-39.99

***First of Two Latin Kings*** 02-03-2019 05:16 AM

I think this is a prototype or sample Randy gave away to his friend, these probably won't be out until sometime this summer.

EddieNES 02-03-2019 05:36 AM

I really hope they have a 2-pack with just foot soldiers.

I hate when they make you buy multiple characters you don’t need.

I don’t think they can put stills from the series because Lionsgate has the rights.

Sure, if you prefer vintage styled 5.5" figures with 5 PoA that have a track record of bad QC for $45

psychturtle 02-03-2019 08:52 AM

I’m excited for these! Price is a little high but should be able to get these for discounts when they do the $10 off $50/$25 off $100 sales and with red card.

Anyone know dpci?
