A little more dev info from the official Shredder's Revenge Discord: Spoiler:
|
They should voice Bebop/Rocksteady I don't see why not.
|
Looks fantastic! Can’t wait.

“Will feature radical physical editions post launch.”
https://twitter.com/Dotemu/status/1517130129335537664 EDIT: https://twitter.com/LimitedRunGames/...50166859403265 Any guesses? |
Character stats (3 star system):
https://twitter.com/ayoblackout/stat...UPCFio_nmEWcpQ I'm guessing Leo is a 2/2/2 balanced character with April being the speedball featherweight at 2/3/1. Kinda surprised there is not a stat for HP defense. |
Why do they always have to give Michelangelo such goofy expressions? He’s not Stimpy, for crying out loud.

Ha, this Illuminerd guy just screams “filthy casual,” as Powder would say.

Game to feature 20 bosses:
https://noisypixel.net/tmnt-shredder...rederic-gemus/ |
I assume that means mini-bosses or mid-stage bosses, similar to the Foot/Mouser battles in TMNT III or Slash being in Bebop's stage in TMNT III. Obviously there won't be 20 levels.

Also, isn't this the first time the original four have voiced the turtles since the 90's? This is a big deal! :D |

20 levels feels like way too much, I think it'll have 12-15 at most. A lot of stages will probably have mini-bosses, as I mentioned above the original games did this a lot too.
The interview above says we'll see characters never in the games before like Tempestra, and I assume only characters who actually appeared in episodes are valid so no toy-only characters or Archie comics characters most likely. If I had to guess at some original cartoon characters never in a game before: - Chrome Dome has only been in Tournament Fighters but never in the classic beat 'em ups, so he's possible. - Scumbug or Antrax are possible - Wingnut as a boss is possible, the one in Tournament Fighters was based on the Archie version, but about the original cartoon version of Wingnut/Screwloose where he's a brown bat? |
20 levels would be possible if they were "worlds" with the levels attached akin to a Mario game.
|
Slash should have his goofy 87 design. I hope they don't chicken out in using it.
|
Wasn't there a panel today for the game?
|
Pretty sure that was just a Discord panel and had nothing to do with the game. I believe Discord mentioned that they'd have the game playable at their booth, but I think the panel was unrelated. (If they truly DID have such a panel, the DotEmu/Tribute guys would probably be hyping it up big, anyway, and I've not seen any of that on Twitter, Discord or the like.)
|
It'd be interesting if there is alternate skins for the game. Somewhat recent TMNT games have had the all-red banna skins there... this might, too. It'd be fairly cost effective to do.
|
I mean, it'd look a bit weird on this version of the Turtles but I don't see why they "couldn't" do it.
I kinda doubt they'd think of it, though, since only you and mczaps would care enough to make a federal case out of it. "We gotta whip up some red mask skins for these two guys on this one forum, otherwise they swear they won't play it." "Seriously?" "Yeah, literally those two guys." "((siiiiiigh)) FINE." ((presses a button, now they all have red masks)) Probably wouldn't cost them anything in time nor money. But I can see them refusing simply out of pure spite. :trazz: |

I agree, nowadays when it makes sense for a character I love and prefer that they have multiple skins. Like, why NOT do that? Someone will appreciate it.
I generally only use the same one or two Batman skins in any Arkham game but I'd be annoyed as hell if they weren't in there. I remember when Arkham Asylum came out, I was like "Even the Batman Begins game had some alternate skins, this is weak." Thankfully, they more than made up for it in the later games. |

20 bosses sounds really good, but why haven't they confirmed the number of stages yet? We know it's over 10 at least (stage 10 boss is Metalhead so obviously that's not the last level), so I hope between 12-15 stages at the least.
I also like the developers said they want people to play through the game multiple times with each Turtle and Splinter/April because they all play differently. it sounds like they designed this with a lot of replay value in mind, so even if the game only takes like 30 minutes or so to beat the first time around, you're going to want to go through it a few more times. Online play and local play is nice too for 2-4 players at once. |
I’m already hoping this team is considering doing a Simpsons or X-Men project next. Not that it’s up to them.
Regarding red masks, I love Mirage but don’t see it really fitting here. I’d probably use them if they are in there though. Didn’t TiT on SNES have an alternate “comic book” look, that gave the turtles darker skin or something? |

One of the team devs said the two IPs they could never refuse are TMNT and Mega Man, FYI |
Thanks.
Mega Man - that's interesting. Really wish Capcom did more with that franchise. |

Castlevania, too. Instead, today we get an adult Netflix show with Alucard banging dudes. |
There was a Mega Man cartoon and toy lines in 1994 and 1995.

Sounds like it should be a lot of fun.
|
Great roundup of info. Looks like they really did innovate in comparison to the old beat-em-ups.
|
Not that it would have been a hard work, considering that OG TiT wasn't all that complex.
|
Yeah. I mean, are they adding a few new things to what we could consider the "standard Konami side-scrolling beat-em-up"? Sure, and we all kind of figured that. But let's not pretend, "WOW! What a revolutionary game! Completely redefines the beat-em-up side-scroller and brings it into 2022!"
