If you're referring to my post, you're completely misconstruing what I said. :p

I do sometimes wish Hugh Jackman (who I really do love his portrayal of Logan) had just happened to be the height for it!

You could be dead right on this. Please do understand I'm making hypothetical speculations and I'm fully open to the possibility that all these will be addressed and well done.

Thank GOD Marvel doesn't come from Hollywood lol. "Wipes sweat from forehead"
All these other superhero films are no more "logical" than this one should be. People are just picking and choosing..

Again, a big key for me is internal consistency. The key reason I favor Avengers climax over Man of Steel is the lack of internal consistency and missed opportunity in MoS that wasn't present in Avengers; at least not so glaring that it contradicted what I felt was established for the title character.
But Michael Bay himself will never get a benefit of the doubt from me! Cuba! Freakin' Cuba! Narcotics cops invade CUBA!!!
But I will give credit. I thought Transformers 1 & 2 were bad and 3 was the best, yet general consensus (Rotten Tomatoes, Meta Critic) love the first and hate 2 and 3. And yet, despite that collective opinion, every one makes more money than the last.
And don't even mention how much cash Resident Evil makes. My brain can't even comprehend that one.

I am obviously referring to the forum. I've experienced it first hand many times. " Wow how dare you criticize the original film to defend this crap". People preach about tolerance but when someone else criticizes something they feel is sacrosanct or untouchable tolerance goes right out the window it seems.
|
The original has a lot of defenders, but you said originals, plural, so I assumed you meant all three. Some defend Secret of the Ooze and even like it better than the first one. I watched Ooze over Memorial Day weekend.... ehhhh, no. I like the first way better.
I disagree with most complaints on the original too, though. My problems with it are more the portrayal of some of their personalities, particularly Leo and Don.

It's a bad habit I've gotten into when communicating online, particularly on forums. I try to use the emoticons to convey I don't mean insult or to have things taken too dead seriously.
And sarcasm and light heartedness rarely translates online, so....
