Why do I like the TMNT and why are they my favorite franchise after all these years? I really don't know. If I dislike or don't care about something I can easily tell you the reasons, but when it comes to stuff I care or like about... I find it a lot damn harder to explain.
I can tell you that my favorite things about the franchise include the humor, the chemistry between the characters, the Japanese mythology behind it, the sci-fi, etc. Also, I like how the Turtles are outcasts and trouble comes to them instead of them going right into it(well, sometimes they do).
But the main reason is probably because it was the first "big" franchise that held my interest when I was a kid. If it had been Batman or Dragonball, I'd most likely be as big of a fan of one of those as I am of the Turtles as well.
