That being said, I'm getting very burnt out on the idea that she automatically has to be paired off just by virtue of the fact that she's a human female. I mean, I would like to think that it's a possibility that males and females can be platonic friends - whether they're human or non-human. Just because someone's a human male and someone else is a human female and they're friends does not mean they have to pair up. It's a crappy, irritating and problematic stereotype, just as annoying in fiction as it is in real life.

I guess at this point the only way to make things worse is if Shredder kills April and stuffs her body into the Turtles' refrigerator, right?

I do not understand why writing female characters is so mind-bogglingly hard to so many people.
