That's probably exactly what they did, but I don't see the problem with it. For most fans, myself included, it's great to see an under-represented or unused character get their fair due. I enjoy when they create new characters, but I also appreciate that they aren't trying to muddy the waters. They do it when they feel it's benefiting the story. There is a corporate agenda, mind you, they have to help sell toys. & the best kinda toys are the ones that appeal to both kids AND adults, which is what reinvented figures do best. "Hey, I remember that guy, I had him! Sure, we'll buy you that one, little Timmy." I'm down with that. If someone's gonna be a flash in the pan, it's a lot easier to get into it when they're a familiar face. Instead of "Aw, it's just another random monster episode..." people say "Oh wow, they brought _____ back!", you dig? That's smart.
