May as well weigh in on this one.
Issues with interspecies relationships aside, I think its a good thing that the show isnt afraid to tackle these kinds of things - they are teenagers and going through relationships like this is part of growing up.
I do feel like the show is trying to almost forcibly put each one of them in a different kind of relationship though;
Don / April felt at first like it was aiming for unrequited love. After FTB its harder to say and it may be they are possibly changing it to a slow grow romance between two friends - complicated by Casey.
Leo / Karai was flirting with the enemy. But the sibling angle and later events complicated that somewhat. I think this is likely to turn into the future 'unrequited/broken heart' romance arc of the show.
Mikey / Renet was classic puppy dog crush. I dont think 'romance' is the right word here. I'd say Renet was flattered but not interested, and Mikey would get over the disappointment of a let down quite quickly.
Raph / Mona I cant comment on precisely because I have yet to see the episode myself, but from the sounds of things it seems like the set up for a whirlwind romance scenario - likely to end in break up or tragedy.
