I dunno. We’ve talked about it before, but it’s hard to explain. I’m all over the place politically, but I have many left wing opinions and sympathies. I just can’t help my gag reflex when I see stuff like a young Muslim refugee hamfistedly explaining “preferred pronouns” in Young Justice.
And we’re all TMNT fans. We grew up with the turtles encouraging recycling, and with Peter and Murph using the comics to go on their own political tangents. I might have rolled my eyes occasionally, but it felt more authentic back then I guess.
I would say roughly around 2012 was when Tumblr-brained freaks started getting mainstream work. Then 2016… we don’t even need to touch on that lol. 2020 made the whole world crazy, but it seems like we’ve all slowly been recovering.
