That's not
entirely true. Joes occasionally got hit by Cobra troops, but only when it was essential to the plot. Duke got grazed in the shoulder at the beginning of the movie and then impaled through the heart by a poisonous snake later on (only to slip into a coma for a day and then come right back out of it in the morning...BULLSH*T!).
