well better quality...you can get better quality than vhs in a divx, if the resolution is high enough and the source from which was encoded/ripped was good (tv/dvd) i got various movies that are almost dvd quality
And i don't know about the sound, i haven't had any of those problems, only 1 in a tick episode..
