Season 1: Shredder Strikes Back, Part One
This episode single handedly made me respect Leo. I always hated him in the old series but this one brought him home and I really started to dig Leo after it. I mean he got the **** kicked out of him and just kept on fighting.
Season 2: What a Croc!
A rather lack luster season, I wasn't to into it to be honest. This one being my favorite episode simply because LH is my favorite TMNT character and to see him in action again and twice as bad ass as the old toon was awesome.
Season 3: The Darkness Within
One of the darkest episodes of the series. I love the play on HP Lovecraft's Cthulu story. Not to mention the over all dark tone of the episode. People talk about how dark SAINW is but the over all quality of this episode dwarfs that. SAINW is overrated from a medicore story arc. It should have been a 2 parter because it was way to short for what they were trying to do. The last battle at the end was so rushed and the way the TMNT die becomes goofy. They can survive explosions and being shot but they get sliced in their shell and cut across their gut and their dead, please.
Season 4: I, Monster
In a season full of great episodes it's hard to pick just one. But this one takes the cake. The Rat King is f'ing insane and it's awesome. Not only does he kick the crap out of all 4 turtles and Casey but he had a real strong presence. I mean he feeds people to rats, that's pretty damn gritty. Truly one of the darkest episodes of the series.
Season 5: Enter the Dragons Part II
This episode was totally set up in a manner where if it wasn't done right it would be a total flop. But it delivered. It's hard to pick just an episode from TLS because it's all one big long story arc but this pulls it off perfectly. Shredder was the ultimate bad ass and he showed it well. Splinter really took an emotional blow in this episode too which I liked alot. It brought alot out in the characters and we got to see sides of villains we never saw before.
Season 6: Bad Blood
FF has failed to impress me but I see where it had potential and where it was ment to be dark. This episode is about as close as it comes to hitting that dark margin. It was cool to see the dark TMNT in action, but as I predicted they made Mikey's counterpart annoying.
