Somewhere on Wikipedia it says that Shadow was the product of a one night stand between Gabrielle and a guy named Albert who was the son of a mafioso named Antoine.

One night stand is not a synonym for rape.

Does it state officially that Shadow was the result of non-consensual sex?

It can be worked around that Casey and April meet a woman named Gabrielle who is about to give birth or who has a newborn but who dies shortly afterwards. Casey and April decide to raise Shadow this way. Sad, but nowhere near as controversial.
