Heh, yeah, sorta. Although IF you'll notice, he said something about ALLIGATORS being in the sewers, too. And they DO seem to be in NYC in this ep, sooooo you can pretty much assume its a bit of running joke for them.
Heck, they made a few Turtle-references back when the
ORIGINAL BMFM series was running, too. I think that my No. 1 fave of that kind back then came from the first ep of Season 1, "Rock and Ride", when they had first met Charley, and she couldn't quite believe that three overgrown (but very well-built and muscular) male Mice were standing in her garage. When she said "Mice" for the umpteenth time (okay, MAYBE it was about the THIRD one), Modo said, "You were expecting TURTLES, maybe?" That line cracked me up! (And just for a bit of FYI, that SAME line, though phrased slightly differently, was in the second issue of the EXTREMELY short-lived (3 issues ONLY) Biker Mice From Mars comic book ("mini"-)series published by Marvel comics. THEY, idiots that THEY are, dropped it after only THOSE three issues. (It's THE main reason that I absolutely HATE Marvel Comics, and absolutely WILL
NOT buy ANYTHING that they publish to this very day!)
