Anyways I do think 2012
will be a YotT for the most part, 2012 has a
ton of huge films being released as I've stated before which is going to kill a lot of the turtlemania that may arise but it'll still make a big impact.
Anyways last time I made a few 'realistic' predictions and for the most part almost all of them happened, the only main thing is the new movie failed to bring back turtlemania or at least bring a lot of attention to the franchise which it failed to do. So I thought I'd make a few more 'realistic' predictions.
I do think Nick is going to bring the turtles back hard starting in 2012, we'll start seeing it next year but the full marketing muscle will be in 2012. I am pretty confident they are going to market the
shell out of the turtles. The new movie will be PG-13 and marketed towards kids and older audiences like Transformers and will be released in the summer going head to head with all the big names. The new show is difficult to place, its seems the production of it is pretty ahead and would be in time for early 2012, the only thing that makes me think it won't come out until late 2012 is they bought the 2k3 show and are only going to begin airing it in 2011 and thats a lot of episodes for them to just get rid of it after 1 year but I'm still going to go with early 2012 for the new show.
Now besides that, I think we'll definitely see Lionsgate do something with the OT, we may all have complained how little attention they've given to their DVD releases but if theres one thing they've always taken advantage is of trying to cash-in with the other turtles events, whether its mimicing the 2k3 s how in their box art, releasing sets to coincide with the movie theatrical/dvd releases and even the 25th anniversary. So whether they just release the missing seasons or something more ambitious I think we'll see them releasing something (except the 3 skipped episodes
). We'll definitely have re-release on DVD/Blu-Ray of the movies even if barebones but this time I'm willing to bet will be 'special editions' we have all been waiting for. Playmates will definitely have toys a few months before the new show/movie actually air but thats not much of a prediction, they'll be pretty decent figures when compared to other current lines yet fans will complain, I also think they'll be 3 3/4" scale. Of course new videogames and tons of licensed crap to go along with it.
This was originally going to be a new thread but then I realize it was kinda stupid so why not just bump this thread and post my predictions here, which I now realize look like pretty safe predictions though I'm thinking I might be wrong on most of them since I haven't been on a roll lately
