No, it's even better. The writers remembered him... by showing his still frozen tank at the bottom of a resevoir in the future apocalypse episodes. They knew he was there and still did nothing. They had retromutagen! Would it have been that hard to devote one episode to that plot thread? Just get rid of the Bigfoot episode.
