I'd probably take a huge bath if I sold my collection. For one thing, with large collections you almost always have to sell it as a lot, which means you're gonna get no more than a buck per issue and usually much less. Anything "of value" can be sold on its own for a decent amount but having a large collection in and of itself doesn't mean anything.

I have some stuff that's worth a little bit... most of the Mirage TMNT, early Archie Sonic comics, some early Image stuff I inherited from my Dad like Spawn #1, and a few Superman and Batman books that are worth something.

BUT none of it is graded - which is a whole expense in and of itself if you hope to get anything close to the value of what you're trying to sell - so technically even those aren't "worth" much of anything.

Collecting comics for any reason but love is a fool's errand, unless you're specifically collecting rare books and have the money to get them graded and appraised.
