Eh...they look VERY different, but I'm still anxious to see them in action on the screen. I'm overly not impressed with the designs, though. April is definitely the best of these six. And did you all notice the differences with their weapons this time? Don's the only one whose is relatively the same.

But everything else is alright. April's is probably my favorite overall.

Love the turtles except for Don's giant head & Mike's lack of a waist belt. & the fact that Donatello's shell seems to open up into a ride-able drone...?

Hate Splinter's face.

Hate April's hair & glasses. Would've been much happier with the "leak" that turned out not to be April.

Not a fan overall. April and Splinter look great. There’s something I really like about Donatello as well....but the rest deviate way too much from what I find visually appealing about the turtles.
Still curious to see them in motion.

The designs are not that bad, and keep in mind seeing them in motion with these heavily stylized designed will probably work well. Raph is bigger but not overly huge, and Leo looks fine.

April is ok. Splinter is small again I guess?

EDIT: Just realized Raph has no sai's...what. Mike's weapon looks similar to his Nick 2012 counterpart. Leo only has one sword, Don's staff looks like it has some metal attached.

This is pretty much the only thing worth getting upset about. I'm a total glutton for punishment for following franchises I like even if I know a new version is going to suck but since the implosion of the franchise in the wake of Out Of The Shadows I've fallen away from TMNT that I could totally ignore the show and brush it off as it being not for me.

However it seems they are intent on the turtles having drastically different builds and crap all over them to be a staple of the franchise and that does bother me. Heck if Rise of the TMNT is successful I can imagine that it's story elements would be leak into other versions. I still think another TMNT movie in the near future is very unlikely but it does neatly fix their reboot conundrum. I could very much see Paramount execs mulling over whether people would really want to see another origin story and rooftop battle with Shredder and then think "but hey what about this new origin where it's all mystical and they fight Lord Zedd".

The only potential saving grace (and this is very mean spirited of me) but I'm not convinced this will be a hit. There's something very Next mutation about this and not just Leo having one sword and another turtles replacing their signature with tonfa, a high tech equivalent and seeming magic version of their proper weapons but that it's come a bit too soon after the previous shows and movies faded out. I'm not sure there's been significant generational turnover to sell a new TMNT to especially one that throws out a lot of the traditional elements of the franchise.

But Master Saki you should be glad. If the turtles and especially your enemy Splinter look this bad just think what they would have done to you. By not being on this show you've actually won.

They actually don't look anything like the Bayturtles. For all the talk of the Turtles wearing clothing, they're actually barely wearing anything.

I wonder if the new show will have an impact on the IDWverse. The Turtle-designs after a while seemed to resemble the 2k12-Turtles, I can imagine Nick gives an order for IDW to follow suit with the new designs...

It's hard to tell the height of Splinter or Raphael, the first image doesn't make it clear either. Raph definitely seems larger than the others but without a side by side comparison or a screenshot its hard to tell.

Splinter also looks like he's crouching in that art so there's no way to see what his size is. He might be the smallest Splinter.

Don - same kind of tech stuff on head and shell
Raph - same kind of big and hulky and same bandana style

Leo and Don look fine to me, Mike seems to be a bit smaller and I don't like how his knee pads have smily faces on them. Leo seems to have some tribal marking like things on him, but they're not as bad as they could be. At least there's no yellow Leo like that fake leak.

Wow, I didn't even notice. The hell? Are sai no longer "safe" in kids programming? Oh well. If I didn't immediately realize it, I guess I don't really care all that much. Maybe I should, I dunno. At least there's the precedent of Mike having numerous weapon changes over time.

You know who you have to thank for that? Casual fans who made their own popular re-designs. Deviantart & the like have been overflowing with that sorta thing long before the buyout even took place. Giant Raphs, Donnie covered in tech, etc. I've never been a big on it, though sometimes it can be endearing, I guess. But yeah, you can be sure those fan-works were not only influential but reflected a certain degree of support across several large platforms.

The Nick design elements were 100% elective, a choice made by Santolouco which became the defacto look as a result of him becoming the default artist. If the series starts to resemble Rise, it would be because the lead penciller wanted it to.

Raph seems to have tonfa, maybe they're transform into sai's. Mike still has a kusarigama like in Nick 2012, maybe it'll go into nunchucks. As we recall the first 2012 promo art of Mike had people freaking out his nunchucks were replaced.
