In full agreement here. I never get why people use April being kidnapped all the time as a flaw, she wasnt painted as a damsel in distress, but a hungry and determined career woman who would place herself in danger to best cover the story and expose the various goings-on to the general public. Getting captured was a risk she was always aware of and didnt care for. I find that very inspirational really, and taught me to appreciate journalists who do cover horrific scenes in wars abroad and whatnot, often getting captured themselves. To me, OT April's plights feel more 'real' than expecting a teenage version going through all this wacky and inconsistent nonsense.
As for Karai...eehhh, I never like it when she's 100% against the Turtles, she's just not interesting that way, she sort of becomes very generic. I like her being belonging more to a grey area, being on whichever side that makes her life a little easier to tolerate. She often sees benefits to both the ways of the Foot and the Turtles and tries to balance it out, sometimes suceeding, and sometimes failing.
