I could see them trying to fit into this strange world... Its something that no iteration really got into.. in depth anyway. I want to see this.. I want to understand the turtles more. If this is done right we could be in for something truly epic
A concept where these characters are trying to understand themselves and the world above them I find very intriguing. Remember Mikey saying.. " you think if we save enough people we'll be excepted?" They want to fit in. This along with a rich back story/mythology sounds really interesting and entertaining. This is a new iteration. Its a new movie. Something a little different and I find it refreshing. We've all discussed this multiple times in almost every thread so.. What it all comes down to is different people like different things. There is nothing practical about teenage mutated turtle ninjas lol.. nothing at all

despite the fact that I disagree the turtles would ever have the same need to individualize themselves that normal human teenagers do I could live with that concept if it wasn't taken to these extremes. I don't mind the little details like leos arm guards and shoulder pads raphs over the head bandana or mikeys sneakers. its all the stuff that looks like it would hinder them from being stealthy and slow them down that really bothers me. its like no one took into consideration that these guys need to be agile swift and silent.

This is HOLLYWOOD we're talkin' about here. Making a movie for kids for the purpose of making money and selling merchandise. Going into depth and really exploring their personalities isn't likely on the agenda. Don't develop the characters, just put them in a costume that visually makes it blatantly obvious what their personality is.
Again, I'm making this statement as a general attack on Hollywood, not even specific to the turtles in this movie.

to add to that how many bay or liebsman movies have been known to go in depth on character emotions and feelings. at best you get about four or five lines of dialogue on the subject before its overshadowed by the next action setpiece
