Nintendo and Super Nintendo
You just can't beat the old classics.
Since being in college, I have had the fortunate privilege of being able to play games other than what is on Nintendo and Super Nintendo. Kids in college have things like: Sega Nintendo 64 XBox Playstation Playstation II Atari Whatever else I'm not thinking of! But, as technologically advanced as all these games are, they're just not as fun as the games for Nintendo and Super Nintendo. Call me old school, but I love the Mario Brothers games, the Ninja Turtles games, and stuff of that sort. I could play Mario Brothers 3 for Nintendo and Super Mario Brothers for the Super Nintendo until I'm blue in the face and never tire of it. Those games, along with the Ninja Turtles games, were so simple. That was part of the appeal. You only had two buttons: jump and kick. Nowadays, you have to press about a 23-button combination just to get your video game character to walk across the screen. Whatever happened to pushing the keypad to the right or left? The games of today are too complicated. Enhanced graphics does not make a better game. My friends and I much prefer the simpler games of Mario and Ninja Turtles. My friends and I much prefer the games when all you had to worry about was rescuing Princess Toadstool or rescuing April O'Neil. I'd take Nintendo and Super Nintendo over all this high-tech gadgetry any day. "Oooh, congratulations, guys. You've just created the least fun video game in the universe." - Raphael, from "The Showdown" |
