That's a good question. They could either go with a more cartoony art style or go with a more highly detailed style like the stuff you see from Disney or Dreamworks.
Or they could go with the style that is similar to the 2007 CGI movie. |

with how it seems to be catching on i wouldn't be surprised if they go for a "stylized/low framerate" approach like in spider-verse, the new spongebob movie or connected
considering that jeff rowe is involved with connected maybe that could be what they're planning |

i remember loving the polar express when i was a kid and while i still have a soft spot for it the designs of the characters aren't something i'd say holds up about it. the tintin movie was the best it was ever utilized but i still don't think it was the right approach. and the less said about mars needs moms the better you can still convey good martial arts in animation as long as you simply do the necessary research and have a spot-on understanding of it, the kung fu panda movies were a testament to this |

With this virus very possibly being one of the factors in movie attention turning to a new CGI instead of live action, since a lot of it can be done by people in separate locations, I won't hold my breath on there being any mocap. Esp if it's not realistic looking CGI, it would just be a waste anyhow imo if this is likely more cartoon looking.

I think dialogue recording is usually done very early into production, so maybe we'll get the voice cast announced reasonably soon.
Or... that might all happen in secret under non-disclosure agreements, with an announcement delayed till much nearer release. |

After all the silence, is it still a thing? I hope we can at least see designs in the near future, that would be reasonable.

I think it'll be awhile... I don't see this thing coming out until 2023/24. I'd be happy to be wrong though.

With Seth Rogen producing. Don't be surprise if he voices a character in the movie. In fact he could voice one of the Turtles. But who? |

They just announced this movie a few months ago. It's not even close to being ready for movie theaters. The pandemic will be done by the time this is ready to be released.

To me a movie does not exist until we see evidence that the movie is far along, announcements of a movie being made, actors getting roles and even teaser posters are meaningless if it's in development hell. So up until the first trailer almost.

Well it's not much, but after roughly a year of no info at all, glad to at least hear some confirmation as to whether or not it's even still on the table. Was starting to have my doubts.
Wish we'd hear something more. If it's still slated to happen, surely after a year there is a little progress on this? So much of a 3D animated film, esp the initial parts of it, doesn't even need to be done colletively in the same office/studio these day. 2023 feels sooo far away, esp right now. lol But on the bright side, my nephew will be 6 or 7 and possibly old enough not to ruin my own viewing experience so maybe we can actually see it together. edit: Unless it's not for the kiddies... haha wait, of course it is. |

I'm just thinking about when we heard they were going to start shooting the announced PD movie 'later in the year' which was... 2019? and then we heard nothing again. Not saying the same will happen here, just I'll wait until we see something more.
