Wannabe politician that annoyed my local area with his longtime infestation of weird homemade signs has apparently moved to another state and has now taken to confusing the Myrtle Beach area. Scott Walker is yours now, SC... have fun. No backsies.

Haaaaah inside jokes.
I love that album too. Years ago they did a release party/concert at a local Tower Records for it. It was awesome. We saw them a few years back at a local festival too and that was cool.

Just a really solid band with catchy hooks all over the place. I love their whole catalog - they have a song called "Hokis" on their 3rd album you should check out.

I finally went and got an inspection sticker on my car that has been over due for nearly a month.

For the first time since before Covid-19 hit, I went to get a lovely facial with a gift certificate I got for my birthday from last year . Glad I finally got to use it.

That reminds me that I've got an emissions test by September 30.... I know now, but I'll forget and be there like.... October 5th.

Finally got the new top installed on my Jeep today with help from the brother-in-law.

Saw a not-so-usual helicopter come through while we were working on it... circled around then headed off northeast. Brother-in-law thought it might have been the president's (and it did head in the direction of his home a few miles away) but it was alone and I don't see any indication that he's here after just coming back from overseas. The size and shape, and maybe coloration (could tell it was at least white in the upper half), looked about right though.

Could perhaps even be Jill visiting home after their trip abroad...? Or it's just a mystery helicopter that I'll never figure out why it showed up, did a fairly tight circle, then kept going... But definitely wasn't a police one or any other more typical and smaller.

Sure was! Four months and a few days, and we got him back the week before the pandemic shutdown. Which was extremely lucky because getting him back would've been a lot harder with all the "nobody can go out" stuff. We really dodged a bullet, there.

I'm still in awe that he managed for that long. He kept zig-zagging all over the place, from one side of the township to the other; we almost got him a couple of times when my wife spotted him in the woods, but he ran off before she could get to him, and other times people sent us some videos of him traipsing through their yard. We hired a trapper to chip in and with her help and another lady who was putting out food for him every night, we finally got him. And after all his bouncing around all over creation, we got him back pretty much in the exact spot he ran away from. Sh*t was crazy.

So yeah, that was an ordeal. I didn't know he had it in him! I often wish he could talk because I'm sure he has some stories, after all that. He was a little nervous after we got him back, for a while, but he readjusted really quickly, and in about a week he was all back to normal. I tell him all the time how smart he is and how proud of him I am. Four months is a long time, I don't know if too many others could've hacked it.

But yeah, he's my li'l buddy. He is quite handsome, I tell him that all the time too. The German Shepherd next door is in love with him, it's adorable.

I am a huge fan of Justice League Dark which is currently written by Ram V. The idiots at DC Cancelled the main run and put JLD in the back of the current JL comic . Ram V came out and said JLD will be getting a separate trade book from JL. So I am very happy.

Happy maker 1... the cab cover I bought my Jeep fits great and pretty easy to put on.

Happy maker 2... this little mini table top sized tower fan sitting by me is prob one of the best, most handy things I've bought in a while.

Thought I was just getting it for a bedroom fan, but little did I know it was really going to help keep a desktop computer cool when the AC is off or too low to please the computer. But top half also swivels, and can to a full 180, so I can aim one half at the open side of the computer (or another person, etc) and the other half at me. And it can oscillate. Never been this impressed by a small fan before. lol

edit: Happy maker 3... can't forget that one of the daylilies I gave my mom last year for Mother's Day, that was an extra little freebie they sent and different than the one I ordered, finally bloomed today and is a nice addition and color pattern she doesn't have.

That's what kinda cool about like FedEX and whatever. Sometimes they ship your stuff on Sundays.

I remember the first time I got an email saying 'your package has been delivered!' and I'm like 'yeah right, it's a Sunday, dude.' and then check outside for something else and sunuvabitch, there IS a box there waiting for me.

Hell's yeah. For me it was last year, and it turned out to be the He-Man and Skeletor movie figures.

They say God rests on Sundays but he sure takes care'a me!

Nephew decided he has a girlfriend at camp. He just turned 5.

Can't fault the kid for being like his aunt, me and a boy in my kindergarten class long ago kind of had a thing, too, at that age, but that was way more vague. This kid is already talking about dates, marriage someday, a baby that would "turn into" their kid. At 5. I guess kids just hear a lot more about all that stuff at that age than we did.

I'll be surprised if it even goes on for long, but it sounds like it at least has the benefit of teaching him to sometimes to do things other kids want to play, not just insist on his own games all the time. He says she doesn't like monsters (he's all about monsters, constantly) so that's a plus... maybe broaden the interests a little.

Ahhh, that takes me back. I fell in love with a girl named Sharon on my first day of Kindergarten. She brought some "Real Ghostbusters" action figures with her and it was love at first sight.

We actually managed to stay "boyfriend and girlfriend" until Second Grade when she moved away. We still stayed in touch for a while but then they got a new phone number and I never heard from her again.

But yeah the boys in my family definitely "bloom" early. Like when my nephew was 4 or 5 he started flirting with his sister's friends who were like 12 and 13. My sister was like "He's just like YOU were, it's terrible."

Mr D finally got to come home yesterday! About flipping tome, too. After everything he went through the past week, including Dr *******z mucking with his insulin AGAIN, we are both about fed up with hospitals in general, but especially some of the personnel at this one.

I always thought it was mostly girls that started up early, but never mind. lol

Back when I was a summer camp counselor in my teens (I think with kids between 6 and 12) it was always the girls. Never saw the boys making eyes at anyone, but the girls on the other hand... lol It wasn't even their fellow campers, no, it was our two guy counselors they were admirers of and were like flies to honey if these guys just came back from playing basketball or something with some of the older kids. I got a few good laughs out of it.

Drank a bunch'a Guinness and set off some fireworks in the yard for about an hour and a half. OH, and there was Chinese food.

'MURICUUUUUUHHHHH!

Oh, and the dog was very confused overall, but he did come out to watch a little bit and despite some general anxiety he was a Very Brave Boy. I always tell him he's very brave, very smart, and very handsome. Cuz he is. The CBD treats might've helped, he seemed a lot more "loose" than last year.

Very brave dog. The one we used to have would go into the basement and fail at trying to dig a hole in the concrete floor in a corner.

Only brave pet we ever had was one of our cats. Had a basic homemade cat tree on our enclosed porch and she'd sit there on it in front of a screened-in window and watch behind us as we set off fireworks right there on the deck. She was kind of weird like that. lol

Happy maker... The local wild bird rescue was able to take in a baby robin my brother-in-law found yesterday.

It had been nearby where we were grilling and think that may have scared the parents off for good. Plus maybe the sounds of fireworks in the area. I kept checking on it through a window now and then once we were no longer around there, just watching to see if the parents show up, but despite the poor little thing calling and calling I never saw them even once. Nor any robins nearby at all.

Been hoping all afternoon that we did the right thing, but for one that can't fly yet (though it tries) and still begging for food, surely I'd have seen one of its parent at least once if it was being cared for. At least this way it won't become a snack for something and will get some meals and be out of that center and on its own sometime soon.

The glaucoma medication that I was prescribed back in March has actually been working. Hopefully it continues to work. It just sucks that I'll need it for the rest of my life.
