Well, my reception on the TV wasn't the best...but damn I loved the new cartoon! Splinter wasn't totally old and decrepit, the jokes were pretty good, the Foot actually fought, and we have distinct personalities showing through!

I'm still not too keen on the theme song, though I loved the intro today. Straight out of Mirage! I eagerly await next week.

Well, that is sorta true since they are reshowing this episode next weekend with the new one coming on in a couple of hours. So in a weird way, you are getting an hour (Or forty minutes, minus the commercialas.) of Turtles! This is a good way for me to set my VCR up for high quality and re-record it.

Hey Gwgtrunks i have never bashed the new toon i have never said it was stupid or sucked or pathethic as some people have done to the old show. All i have I have said is i like mutants and bebop & rocksteadsy and stuff and thats because i'm nostalgic and gunna miss it. I don't thinks it bad for me to praise the show i loved.

I really enjoyed the show it was good the only funny thing i laughed was when splinter kept saying hello to the shell-cell. The turtles were awesome and Mikey whos my fav turtle was awesome.

And my brother likes what he sees first. He really likes He-Man too and when he saw the old show on this tape he got with this guy he didn't like it either. He liked the new show first because he saw it first.

oh man, that show kicked ASS!!!!

I think they went a little over the top with both Mike and Raph's personalities, and that Shell Cell thing was a lil' dumb, but otherwise it was PERFECTI!!

Mike is still my fave. I love this thing:

I agree with just about all the positives on here. I think the foot's new black/grey costumes look better than the purple ones and the small glimpse of Shredder and Casey in the opening theme looked really f'n cool! The little feud that Mike and Raph have is great and I love those little japanese animation style action clips when the turtles draw and strike their weapons. All in all, I couldn't of asked for a better first show, this brings me back to the 4th grade, I almost wanna bust out my turtle toys from the closet

Just saw it an hour ago...been waiting a LONG time for a new TMNT. I will say the new theme song SUCKS ASS(nothing beats the old one) but I like some of the psuedo cinematic style(letterboxing) and slight anime influence. The fact they finally showed some real turtle to advesary action(the foot clan scene)
was cool. The Eastman/Laird cameo was cool...the intro is freaking awesome. The preview clip was great, and damn if April doesnt look hot. Baxter looks cool too.

But...

You know, about all those anti old cartoon remarks...um, yeah, sorry about that.

Firstly, let us not kid ourselves...those backgrounds SUCK ASS! I mean holy crap those are bad...did anybody else notice how poorly drawn and over simplistic those were? I did like the chemistry of the turtles...some of the turtles sounded like old men, but I liked their chemistry together.
Lots of nods and winks to stuff in what they said.

Btw, not every episode of TMNT is gonna take place at night right? I mean Im all for girtty, but dang man...have the sun come up now and then.

Finally, I remember the first episode of the first TMNT. That was epic as hell(the highrise thing explodign with water and the last minute slide down)
I mean it was like the action of a final episode in the first one...

Heh, well I just saw the first episode...I had to tape it because I wasn't here at 10:30...so I saw it at like 12:30....

I am guessing most of you wanted to see my opinion on this episode, since I was the one bashing on it the most, lmao...

I gotta say, it beat my expectations by a whole lot...I had my doubts, now they aren't here as much, this show was a definate way to start the series off, and I think it will draw attention to those who will follow the whole series...so basically each episode will get a larger audience until they do something wrong, which doesn't look like it will happen soon I hope.

Anyway, on to the show....The story was not as good as I thought it would be, but how much of a story can you really do in the first episode? They didn't say anything about the tmnt origin which I bet will confuse intelligent people that are new to the show....I think every other aspect more than made up for this loss though...The acting....well that was good for the voices, I still have to get used to the new voices, but they utilized their acting skills great! Don needs more of a character though...but I think that will soon change..Raph-horrible voice, but great acting, love it....Mike is pretty good too....Leo reminds me of Raph in the old one, at least the voice somewhat...I love Splinter, he does not joke around and he tells everything as is, great.

Good things about the show: Hilarious comedy, seriously I thought the comedy portion would gear to a younger audience but it proved otherwise...Action-great action for the most part, which really helps out the popularity in today's society, so I am glad that that factor is in there....Another thing is everything seems to flow easily, so I am assuming the series will just continue like one big story, which is good for the older audience, I just hope they throw some random single episodes out there, maybe to cover something a little better that they haven't covered....and to take a break from the series, anyway another thing is that the plot isn't as predictable as most plots are in cartoons in general, so that was good...The turtles also acted more like ninjas, not just putting on a disguise, but using stealth instead.

Bad things about the show: Purple Dragon gang seemed to be just a bunch of wimpy thugs that have no strength, they didn't even land a punch or anything, something I hate to see in cartoons, oh well, I have yet to see Hun so maybe this will change....mousers just pop out of no where, but hey, at least it leaves room for surprise I guess, again the story factor, but I hope that will change....they also didn't have battle song themes, or any other type of theme, they should really add the themes, it makes it more addicting to watch.....

Things I hope to happen or just random speculations: I really hope the purple dragons are not allied with shredder and his "gang" if you will, but just against the turtles in their own seperate ways, so that leaves room for a "gray" type of alliance I guess, meaning like it won't be just one side against the other, I hope there will be several sides, and more story in the purple dragon gang members, not as a whole. Oh, also it seemed like shredder was using some type of mutagen maybe..? Maybe he will turn that PD member into a monster of some sort? Who knows...anyway, I also hope Don invents more machines, and I mean a lot...love that stuff....More references to the old show, that was a great addition to this one....wow, I was not expecting Mike to say something like I don't want to have to see your butt longer than I have too, that was great, also the way he imitated splinter and was making the chase after the van seem like a race...I love the art, the PD gang looked great, love the outfits, looks like a gang, also the foot are now like gray-black, not purple or pink, lol....I can't wait to see what their new home will look like too, shell cell was clever, and the way that splinter was having trouble, brought the point across that he was old, lol....

Only a few things to worry about now....first of course I hope the show keeps getting better, I think they drew enough attention already, another major thing will be the parent's reaction....people will be mighty pissed if they make the action crummy or take weapons away or change costumes or something, keep it as is, sheesh....I hope FOX likes it, or if they don't, maybe another station will pick it up....

I caught it too. I was looking at the two cops when the turtles dropped the bags of money on their car. I was like: "Waitaminute...those two guys kinda look like Eastman & Laird....hmmm..."

VERY Enjoyable show, I can't wait for next saturday so I can see the next one. I like the look of the mousers, expecially how they have like 3 rows of metal teeth inside their mouths!

This show just kicks ass.

I just got back from the mall & picked up Leo & Donatello in honor of the new show (& I still needed to get them). Donatello can't stand up well at all, Playmates should really work on his legs a bit.

It's called Style. It's like someone saying the backdrops in Samurai Jack suck because they aren't painstaikingly detailed. The new show has a special look to it that diversifies it from all the other cartoons out there. They use the color blue a lot and a lot of jagged edges. So in that sense, no, I don't think the background suck at all.

TMNT Old school may have had an epic beginning, but it soon-after dwindled into fart jokes and "what will Shredder do this time". It's epicness was realized small-scale in a 3-episode opener. This new series will span a 26 episode epic that will destroy everything that came before it (if this first episode is anything to go by).

The way I feel is...I loved the old toon as a kid. Now I love the new toon as an adult.

yea... why did the foot suddenly attack them... where did the mousers come from... how did they become mutated turtles... come on they didnt address these issues at all. I mean they will probably explain their origin when they encounter April, but seriously why did the foot just attack them for no reason.
