I've seen the repackaged movie Turtles, just sadly not Don yet Didn't know they were redoing the basics, too.

A while back, when there was a discussion about keeping the figures in packs, you made a very good point about the generic packaging not really fitting the needs for multiple pack presentations ... Because they are all the same. Maybe someone at Playmates read your point of view !!
I have to say that I like this new style.
I wanted all four Turtles in new packaging, but could only find 2 of them. On display, in a collection, they do look better than the original designs.
There is a third design as well, that of the Japanese releases. I haven't bothered with them tho. They are a little dull. I don't know how many figures are to be reissued in the new packs, but all 4 Turtles are, in both TV and movie formats.

Haha, I don't recall saying that, but it's a point I happen to agree with! Honestly, when I saw that Donatello I thought to myself "Huh! That kinda makes me want to get a second set to keep MOC & hang up, given the unique displays." so there ya go. It sure would be cool if one of us fans could positively influence Playmates in that way, but I'd much rather it come in the form of fully painted details rather than a change of box art. But I guess actions that sell more matter more than those which please adult collectors. Who knows~

You ask the impossible....unique art on the boxes, AND quality paint aps!!! Haha!!
For now I'm happy with the new artwork.

I'll try to track down some more (if there are any just now). I have found, so far, the four Mystic Turtles, regular and movie Turtles. I hadn't expected to see anything new for a couple of months. Now, if I could only find that Party Wagon.

I'm digging that new packaging. It reminds me of a pic someone posted here a while back of a Japanese (I think) store that had different packaging as well.

WOW I really love Leo and Don's figures. I can't wait to find these. REALLY excited about the mysic arc.

Donny is a straight up GRIM REAPER!

This is one wave of figures where Don will not be the shelf warmer

Now that we've seen more of it, I do really like the new packaging! I love how they're personalized...but why is it that in that picture above, only Raph and Leo's boxes are like that? I didn't think they were going to put the older figures in the new packaging...I must resist the urge to buy another set now I wonder if every character will get a personalized card though...I'm guessing it's going to be only the four turtles, unfortunately

Oh, and the Mystic Turtles look awesome! Are they out yet? Can't wait to get my hands on those.

The new packaging is very cool. I think it will bring a breath of fresh air in terms of packaging to the line!

Thank's Zulithe, for finding my 4 pack pic. I wanted to post it here yesterday, but I couldn't get it it to load into photo bucket and gave up. It must have completed after I left work Haha!!
I really like this range. My favourite is Raph, followed by Don's take on the Reaper.
When I saw just these on the Playmates site, I wasn't really thrilled. Then I saw them in packs and they just look so good.
Packaging wise, I am unsure about the single/multi Turtle graphic. This set has two of each, and I have to be honest and say, I didn't notice. I was just excited at how great these figures are. They will look nice up against another favourite set of mine, the LARP dudes (love em).
I might get another set of each to open, as well -maybe!!

the paint is so crappy and inaccurate on the figures. I might not get them now.

reason why i have paint brushes and paints to improve that hasn't been colored in yet. after a few years you learn to accept such things when you can paint them in yourself.

I've said it before, and these latest figures really bring it home. The paint ape are not there, but the sculpts are super detailed.
One day I would like to look at these almost as model kits, where it is up to me to add in the paint detailing. Properly painted, these would be stunning.

So the repackaged turtles are basically the same figures? Any improvement to paint jobs? Hmmm. I admit the packaging is nice but sounds like an easy pass for me.

So all the already released TMNT figures are getting new packaging? Oy.

I notice in all the new turtle releases they've decided to start coloring their arm and knee pads the same colors as the masks lately, like the original TMNT figures/cartoon. I wonder is that just Playmates being lazy, or are the turtles going to have color matching pads coming up in the show.

My guess is Playmates laziness.
