TMNT Season 3 Official Info Thread

Whenever there's a romance in a TV show, I usually just accept whatever the canon pairing is. I don't see the point of pairing characters together who have nothing to do with one another.

I just can't imagine what's going through the mind of all those teenage shippers on tumblr. I think they don't realize TMNT is not one of their Japanese anime's, TMNT is a cartoon that has historically had little to no shipping besides Casey/April. I imagine this is their first exposure to TMNT and that's why they think this.

TMNT has always had romance in it, other than April and Casey, and if this show seems to have more shippers than usual it's because it focuses on it more than past incarnations. There's a reason why the love triangle has gone on for so long, why we've have Leo crushing on Karai, why Karai is kissing Casey rather than simply biting him, and why Mikey will crush on Renet. This show actively encourages shipping. And some people are a fan of that sort of thing.

Even if the show didn't have any romance, there'd still be shippers, albeit perhaps less. It happens to every show.

Well maybe that's just the way you are, Cubed. And there's absolutely nothing wrong to think that way. I for one tend to enjoy shipping certain characters if I don't like the relationship my favorite characters are in. Take for instance, Avatar. I loved that Mai loved Zuko, but I hated it when Zuko and Katara had their moments so I was always like MAIXZUKO 4EVA in my head lol

I was trawling through the #tmnt tag on twitter at work (we were rushed off our feet, can you tell ) and for some reason an old status from Minae Noji (Karai in the 2014 film) showed up. Pretty sure it got posted before but wouldn't do any harm to repost.

I don't know if this might be the episode that she shows up in. She seems very keen on the idea of Karai vs Casey but then again, she seems keen on everything that's ninja and turtle.

No. Its just Karai poisoning Casey by kissing him and slipping venom through her mouth. There's no actual romantic scene going on here.

Its just shippers grasping at straws like usual. Not to mention Karai is likely brainwashed by the mind control serum in this episode on top of that.

Anyway, how does time-travelling send the turtles to Japan as well? Wouldn't they just go to the past of New York? Or does Renet teleport them too?

The Time-staff can control time and space. And it has a mind of it's own as previous incarnations have suggested. So it sends people where they need to go in time and space, not where they want to go.

the time scepter controls both time and space, in the 2k3, they were went 2 europe and in a few hrs walking distance of the ring of fire, not 2 mention the whole arc that split them up in different time periods and parts of the multiverse/alternate realites

I got this info from the Ninja encyclopedia.

Apparently the three strokes that make up the Kanji for "Onna" (Woman) broken up they are Ku no ichi

Yeah, this. There's so much going on in this thread, I wasn't sure if this was fan speculation that they will do a storyline with conflict with those two or something official.

So Karai will poison Casey? This is...interesting. I wonder how this will affect those around them. Like Splinter and Leo regarding Karai and stuff, or if that will lead to conflict with Raph pretty much being a realist saying, "We can't trust Karai" again. I'm looking forward to this.

i think it mainly has to do with the fact they've done time travel in every iteration of tmnt. very rarely do you see someone technically 'kissing'. much less it being karai. sadly i have be at work right when it starts so i get to miss out on it until that night.

But this sounds like something that was influence from Hollywood pop culture.

Ninja were more like spies and less like mystical folklore spirits. Their goal is to blend just like how male ninjas would blend in as lonely travelers, entertainers, priests and farmers to get information as part of the spy ring.

Geisha themselves are more like entertainers anyway, since they would be train to dance, sing and play music when they are children and learn to flirt when they become apprentices to senior Geisha. What you're thinking sounds more like a courtesan which is consider a separate profession and even wear their clothes differently with the bow in the front instead in the back.

Oh! Thank you for explaining this. I'm watching the 2003 series for the first time and I'm only in later season 2.
So I guess the episode after the Deadly Venom will be my very first impression on Renet. I heard she's stupid in 2k3.

I never saw the time travel clip. I'd literally only just seen the Karai and Casey one, went to look at the LARP outfits one and the whole channel was gone, or the videos were at least.

So unfortunately even if I wanted to comment on the time travel one, I couldn't.
